Since 2002/E8 formed:

SJF is 5-2 against AU by an avg margin of 31-20

AU got 1 of its 2 wins last year in OT...and of course the '05 defensive gem that AU defense pitched.

Going to go with the averages on this one

SJF 31
AU  20

If SJF's secondary doesnt show up for this one it could the other way around.

EDIT:  I changed my mind...whoever has the ball last wins this one 41-38

Anyone else tired of hearing about SJF's ancient history?!?!?!!!!

Decision time boys.  DLIPin Yanks couldn't finish it off last night so now I need to decide between driving down tomorrow to sit in the rain for a game which is likely to be postponed or head up to Growney and hope that the Yanks get rained out.  I'm leaning toward the latter, but still not sure.  Help an E8PPer out!

Operation Deluge is in effect!  I talked it through with MKaz over lunch and forwarded my tickets on to my bleacher "neighbor" who will take friends tomorrow night if the game gets played.  My rationale was thus: I'd say there is a 20% chance they play tomorrow.  If they play, I give the Yanks a 55% chance of winning.  Thus, there is an 89% chance there will be a game on Sunday which I can drive down for.  The 11% risk I take results in the Yanks in the World Series.  So, it seems like a no-brainer.

AU posters!  How many of you are heading toward the Pep Band on the home side tomorrow?  It would be nice to meet a few of you!

No, it was this incoming group of kids, which is interesting because none of them have made an impact this season. I'm not saying they won't be excellent, just that, for a team with supposedly so much depth, they're really struggling. It's tough for freshman to make impacts, sure, but we've seen it at Fisher and Alfred in recent years

Ok, that makes more sense.. and i believe it.  Every year I run the Freshman through a search of all-state team when they post it.  The past few years we've been lucky to have one or two that have made the NYS all-state team, and usually it's been a third-teamer from a class C or D school. It's probably not shocking our Junior and Senior classes are not overflowing with talent.

This year we're just littered with all-state kids... without going through things specifically right now (off to the Pumpkin farm!), I bet there's a good 10-12 of them this year.  Add to the fact we seem to have found a recruiting niche in the Suburban Chicago area, and brought in two highly regarded QB's.. things seems to be heading in the right direction as far as recruiting goes.

You're right that few, outside of Kugler on the D-Line, and Fietkiewicz returning kicks, have made any impact this year.  That seems to be IC's history as far as freshman go.... the immediate example that pops up is Esposito, who didn't show up until the Cortland game.. it was no secret he was lurking at the JV level, but they seem to want to get guys acquainted with the system before tossing them into things.  Gordon and Crandall did little more than return kicks their freshman year, before they opened the door to them playing WR, which turned out pretty well for both of them.  I bet they would have loved to have thrown Ardoin in the mix when Bergerstock and Ruggerio went down, but then he got hurt which left Lajara...

i'm not saying they're punting away this year, but with the Varsity team seemingly not in the position to make any waves, maybe it makes sense to let them get a lot of reps in with each other at the JV level this year.

Since it's never to early for tie-breaker fun, I thought I'd look up who would have the edge if Alfred, Fisher and IC all tied with one loss for the conference top spot. Assuming Alfred beats Rochester, it would come down to OOC strength of schedule, where, amazingly, Ithaca would have an what might be an almost insurmountable edge:

IC: 14-10 (5-1 Union, 2-4 St. Lawrence, 3-3 Widener, 4-2 Cortland)
SJF: 3-9 (2-4 Rochester, 1-5 Buffalo State)
Alfred: 5-20 (0-7 Mass Dartmouth, 1-5 FDU Florham, 2-4 Rochester, 2-4 St. Lawrence. Man, I didn't realize the Saxons had this bad of an OOC)

Bombers football: "Who needs to beat Fisher when you can beat the system?"

Granted, I doubt this will happen, but other than Cortaca, what's left to root for for us Bomber fans?

Bombers..... what if the only OOC game IC win are St. Lawrence and Widener? Does that matter?

If Alfred wins today, Ithaca will control their own destiny for the playoffs which is mildly hillarious..

Widener has to be the worst 3-3 football team in recent memory.

No they won't..Alfred could still lose to Rochester or Utica, which would eliminate them earlier in the tiebreaker (or take them out of it altogether) and make it just between IC or SJF, which would go to the Cardinals

I don't think so, since it's based on the opponents winning percentage. Overall record only comes into play if they're tied after that. Also, the Bombers also won at Frostburg
