Did I really just read three pages of Hobart vs. Hartwick?  Weirdest debate ever.  How'd that even happen?

Yeah, I got sucked into something stupid, but it was really a segue from the IC/Hartwick debate.  Apparently people take exception when its pointed out that their team gives up 68 points to a team with a losing record.

The twists and turns these boards can take when people have too much free time and when their teams are out of contention.

I was making fun of ty, not you.

Let me revise: IC posters can't say anything about IC, any other team, or any other POSTER without BoSox crowing about respect.

I made a subtle comment about losing at home being worse than losing away that turned into this... just an opinion comment... i was not crowing about respect... then i was just reacting to other comments... and please make comments about punkin... i promise i wont say a word

BoSox...you fell into what is called a trap.  I do it often.  You make some undebateable opinion/comment...on a.....OPINION/COMMENT board....and then these vultures like maxpower, u89 and some others, immediately take what you say out of context, or they make up their own opinion and they declare themselves almighty, despite you never having disagreed with them, and then you react....like WTF....I never said that (but its too late)...they are good at what they do on here...and then 4 pages later, 5 other vultures who havent read any of the posts swoop in because they smell a carcas to be picked over and they know they can grab some Karma while they are at it....its ok though....like Max said....just pout for a couple days like I did, change your name and come back.

Its like a 12 step....you'll recover.
thank you i think... but im sure that was more directed at some other folks

well i guess im in the denial stage because im just having fun... im home from work today and bored... the fact that max or anyone would think anything said on here would make anybody pout for a couple days is kind of sad

and at the end of the day I'm a hartwick fan but i will pull for whoever goes to the playoffs from the E8...

Re: Springfield.

From a football perspective they have no reason to leave the E8.  But, football reasons do not drive every decision.  I wonder if the expense of travelling will eventually force the administration to shut it down.

That seems like the only real drawback.

What about the two teams the E8 is adding.  I was very suprised... i would think with todays economy and the price of traveling those schools would be too far to consider

Nat Sherman makes a nice Hobart! ;D

You're going to reference 1997, when my 31yr old azz was a SO?  Want to compare records since then?  How about NCAA appearances and NCAA wins?  Get a defense and a real schedule and then we'll talk.

Yeah I played in that game, and also won against Wick.  It was a useless game becuse they threw literally 50-60 times per game and there was nothing to gain with a win and we were though to have sucked if we lost.

I forgot that games don't count against teams that throw the ball a lot...or if you don't have anything to gain.  Can we forgot our loss to WNEC a couple of years ago now!!!

See how stupid that sounds?

Let me clarify.  bart made the decision to go to nine games (except the one year where the LL gained SU) and hasn't looked back.  That game was the easiest to drop because we had no history with them, it was a no win situation in playing them, and quite frankly even our +/- .500 program back then didn't even think about them, they weren't on the radar.  And the year before we beat you by 15 (another game I played in).  What's really stupid is bragging about a game from 1997.
[/quote]

I wasn't bragging about a win in 1997...just stating it is ridiculous to make excuses like we lost because "they threw the ball 50-60 times a game, and we had nothing to play for".

We lost to Springfield this year because they ran the ball about 60 times...and we didn't really have anything to play for because we had two losses in the league.  Plus Alfred is really good...and the IC game was close...so if you add that all together we are really 4-0 on the year...

Again...see how stupid that sounds?

Not going to the cocktail par--- er, I mean, respectable football meeting between UGA and UF this weekend?

Alright Yanks,

I threw too many concepts into a short, throwaway post.  I did not intend that part about the offense to be construed as an excuse, but it was a separate thought I had about an insinuation that we were ducking Hartwick (which you may not have intended, but it was my internal stream of consciousness, and if you did intend it, its laughable when comparing the OOC scheduling of the two teams this decade).  Hartwick won in 97 against a not so great team (which I was a part of).  Great, but it doesn't have anything to do with the recent past.  What is the relationship between Hartwick giving up 68 pts to Utica in 07 (and 42 to WNEC) and however many to Brockport last year, and that Hobart game from the Bill Clinton era?  What is the relationship between that and the pathetic OOC scheduling for Hartwick.

I'll tell you what... I heard Hartwick is going and getting a tough ooc game against a stellar  merchant marine team.... and maybe even wpi...

Sorry...I don't read minds.  And are you still stuck on 97?  Let it go man...it was a long time ago.  The 70 points to Utica was in 4 OT's.  Not that it is an excuse...but if you are going to keep bringing it up, at least mention that it was 49 up after regulation.

And don't break your arm patting yourself on the back over your OOC schedule.  If ours is pathetic...what is yours?  Mediocre?  The only reason you guys don't get hammered for your schedule is because RPI has been ducking folks for years.  Back to the LL board Wittle Pumpkin...

It was 70 to Utica in four overtimes and 68 to Brockport in regulation. Neither one is so great, though.
