and suddenly I am saddened by the knowledge that we have the same diploma hanging on our walls.

At least Max isn't acting like a 7 year old, calling people, 'Wittle Pumpkin', then giggling out loud.

Or putting dudes with no shirt on in their profile...

Congrats to Hartwick on their win over Utica.  Big game against Fisher...with an upset maybe an ECAC bid?  Not many people would have guessed that after losing Boltus and Phelan.

Am I wrong on this...or does Alfred simply need to beat Ithaca OR Utica to wrap up the AQ and the E8 title?  If so...congrats Saxons.

Because Ithaca has TWO E8 losses and Alfred won head-to-head games with both Springfield and Fisher, which each has ONE E8 loss, the Saxons need only win one of its two remaining games. Pep has wondered all season about the significance of AU's early season win over Springfield...and whether The Pride would prove to be a real contender. Today's score certainly was an indicator, although IC has been riddled with injuries.

AU's defense and special teams play today was exemplary. AU held a heretofore potent UR offense to just 176 total yards today, while the Saxons ran for 243 yards and passed for 173 for a total of 416 yards. Add to that a punt return for a TD, a second punt return for a TD called back by a block in the back, and then a 98 yard interception return for a TD (that Kaz00 argues should have been knocked down as it was a 4th down pass and an incompletion would have given AU the ball near the 30), and you have a rather entertaining afternoon. Manzer, in setting a school record for longest interception return for TD, breaking a mark set in 1922, likely ran some 200 yards as he weaved his way down the field with most Saxons a bit shy about throwing blocks that might negate the return.

Despite light rain and stiff winds, the pep band, under its EZ-Up, had a good time today celebrating the Saxons.

Murray is an awful coach and should be fired after this season.   There is no way that AU can ever win the E8 as long as Ithaca and Fisher are still there.  Besides, what recruits want to go to a small school in an out of the way little town like Alfred?  BTW- I mourn the loss of the Jet and Alex's, 2 fine establishments.

The Jet suffered water and smoke damage....Alex's was open last night, but you're right about Murray and the hick town, now without a liquor store and a sports center.   ;)

With the Springfield win yesterday, I have to imagine that Kilcarr will get the start again next Saterday at Butterfield.  He played well and once he stopped throwing frozen ropes, there were far fewer dropped balls.  After watching Ithaca (2005) and Fisher (2006, 2007) celebrate clinching NCAA births against the Saxons, I'm very excited to have two chances for Alfred to do the same this year.

On Saxon Warriors and Thanks, Pride!

Good luck to AU the next two weeks.  I'd really like to see you win in dominating style (sorry IC/UC) and at least make the discussion about bringing MUC over instead of a perfect AU interesting.  It's too bad the Hobart game couldn't have happened and it's obviously on Bart, but they just weren't doing the tenth game no matter what.  Bart's getting a little better on O as the season wears on and it would've probably helped AU's profile if they won (especially in Geneva).

Indeed Congrats are in order for AU. I am not too worried about them looking good and wrapping up the league. After watching AU play against Fisher I am convinced that they are the real deal. I don't know if two more wins will be enough to keep MUC out, but it would be a shame (IMO) if AU was not rewarded for the season they have had. They should get a home game or two at least if they can win out. From a fan who as gone down the road to Alliance Ohio, it is a long drive out, but a much longer drive back.

Many of us have been saying this as of late, if Alfred and Albright run the table and remain undefeated winning their respective leagues MUC should not be brought in and one of these two teams should get the number #1 seed in the East Bracket. Yet to be honest dlip is gaining much more understanding and perspective as to why MUC is brought in and feels he understands it more. Still does not agree with it, but understands it more.

It's because it's NOT the 'East' region, MUC is closest, and MUC is much more highly regarded and ranked than ANYONE in the East.  I think it sucks, but it makes sense.

Honestly, I'm not sure how many more times we have to mention this!!  I think people should just prepare themselves for it rather than to incessently complain about it.

Understood, but pg.04 as much as it may be annoying for you to keep hearing about it, which dlip can understand, it is ****ing annoying for some of us to not have an Eastern team get a #1 seed when they run the table. O.K. O.K. dlip won't repeat himself anymore  ;).
