Pep does NOT have the answer to that question.

If I had my way, the Bombers would be asking that same question about their own signal caller.

But seriously, let's get to the real issue at hand. Cortaca's coming....it's truly time to talk Cortaca!

That idea hasn't worked for us the last two times we drove up to Butterfield, Pep...

Eh, you're right, Kaz00. So, the question of the week is, who will be the starting signal caller for Alfred at Butterfield Stadium?

I think it should be Kilcarr.  Alfred has two chances to win the conference and I'd rather that Secky's knee get the extra rest.  Then again, I think the Yanks should be pitching Gaudin tonight instead of Burnett, so what do I know?

How much can we really blame Brian for the way this season has gone though? He's been solid, if unspectacular. But considering the terrible running game they've had and the lack of a true game breaker in the WR core, what more can be expected?

Along with that - a suspect offensive line protection wise as well.  I've been told there isn't a whole lot behind him too.  Ithaca was a better second half @ springfield away from playing for ncaas this weekend.  I'm not saying they almost beat them but they were in it and Grastdorf played solid (until the pick).  The passing game kept them in it throughout the game and for much of the season. There shouldn't be any question who the starter is especially with the class of the league up next and Cortaca following (with a potential .500 record at stake)

If Grastorf is able to throw as well as you say he did against Springfield, then it could be real interesting on Saterday.  The Saxon secondary, while certainly getting better by the game, is still the weak area and a good Bomber passing game could exploit Alfred's weakness and trip them up in their run for the conference title.

Since the AU guys have seen both teams and are probably more objective than any of us: who do you think is the better team in SC-SJF? What do you see as the result? Anyone else?

dlip is a huge Pride fan and has been very high on them here in 09. Honestly he felt quite confident they would take out he Bombers last week but this week kind of scares dlip. It really could be a trap game for the Pride. dlip still feels SJF is very good and has them in his ER top ten. Plus the Pride owes SJF for their quarterfinal playoff loss in Springfield a few years back. Carter and crew have grown throughout the season. When an athletic QB begins to really understand the offense and has solid backs behind him the Pride and that triple option can be down right ****in nasty. Anyone remember the game Sharpe had in Pittsford earlier in the season of the aforementioned playoff game? dlip sees a serious barn burner here and will have to hold off on a score for now. He needs more time to think.

I certainly do remember that game by Sharpe, he was nasty.  However he didn't fare too well when SJF had their starting DT and AA CB/S Stepnick back in the lineup for the playoff rematch...

The Pride certainly can light up the scoreboard when firing on all cylinders.  It's going to be an interesting game with SJF playing for "pride" while SC is playing for a potential pool C bid...

Can't speak for Kaz00 (don't think anyone could if they tried!), but Pep would say the Fisher defense seemed to put up more of a fight than that of the Pride. Mind you, Secky played only about 22 minutes of the Fisher game whereas he played most of the Springfield contest.

What makes this game most interesting is that while the Fisher defense may be pretty solid against a balanced offensive scheme like AU's, they struggled at Salisbury and likely will have trouble stopping the Pride as well. Pep thinks you're looking at a barn-burner with a 42-38 score, likely in favor of the home team.

But what does Pep know?

On Saxon Warriors!

moral of the story... schedule non-conference games against fitchburg state and mt. ida rather than salisbury state and mt. union. Swap out those two SJF losses with two cake walk W's and this week's game is a lot more interesting. I like the pride 35-28.

Since the MUC home and home massacre is over I wonder what UW-Whitewater is doing next year...

Seriously though, SJF isn't going to the cake schedule route as they are picking up Hobart in place of MUC.  Not saying Bart is MUC but I'd rather see teams like Bart, RPI and a couple of the MAC schools on the schedule over cakes like Mt Ida...

BTW, Salisbury and Springfield will be playing each other in the near future in what might end up being the fastest game in the modern football era...

yea i hate the fact that sc dumbed down their schedule. against their only respectable opponents they got whooped by alfred and beat a bergenstock and scalice-less ithaca team with the help of big special teams plays. I think they'll beat SJF because its a bigger game for them.

Thats a great point. I think the MUC expirement was an eye opening one for Fisher. I think they learned they are not quite at that level yet, and while it may have done some good for recruiting and national recognition, the lopsided losses were not at all fun, and did not help them any in winning the conference and in region games.

I have not seen or followed Springfield at all this year so I have no idea how they stack up against Fisher, but it is a much bigger game for them than it is for Fisher. Maybe Fisher can pay someone back for a similar situation they took a loss in last year at Alfred? I am not going to even attempt a prediction since, again, I have no idea what they have. I just hope Fisher can put it together this week and come out with a win.

As far as struggling against Salisbury, and how that impacts this weekend; In the past Fisher has looked bad against the option attack in one week, and much better the second time they get a shot at it. The Sharpe game at Fisher was difficult to watch, but Fisher looked a lot better against the same offense later in the year. Same last year when they played Salisbury at home, and then was able to stop SC in the last 3 quarters and pull off a win last year. We will see.
GO FISHER!!!

fan of d3

Chris Sharpe was an absolute pleasure to watch/play with.....kid could turn nothing into a td. There would be a pile of players and the next thing youd know he would be 60 yards downfield scoring a td.  I hope carter can get to that level.
