Hmm, an Alfred education and lucidity. I wonder if there is any connection? Hmmm.

Correlation does not equal causation.  ;)

Whoa...whoa...too many big words...
Hartwick College 2007 Empire 8 Champions

Yanks 99

Just read the ATE write up...not bad...

But no Utica update!!!  I thought for sure I would see a big write up on "America's Team" and their rivalry game against Wick...

Can you still be an upstart team at 3-5?  Just curious...

Actually, you raise an interesting point. By all means, Utica's a work in progress and should improve. But is anyone else a little surprised they've failed to break through against any non-terrible schools?

I mean, alright, clearly Ithaca and RPI aren't living up to their usually storied reputations, so maybe those early close losses came before we knew how truly not-impressive they were, but I'm still surprised that Utica's only wins are over three godawful teams. I really thought they'd pick another one up. Hopefully they can top Mt. Ida this week

Bosox and yanks,
Sox- you are a little off on the UC- not being a good place--you should see the campus-much different than even 5 years ago. Dr. Hutton has been very aggressive in getting the college a new look and new buildings.
New stadium, new academic buildings, new housing--much better night life--it isnt your old uc.

Yanks- while i agree that sec III isnt a hot bed of talent----what better way to keep the good local guys local
it is an obvious fit.
Yanks- remember- your QB is from the mohawk valley--so be careful about bashing sec III
as i recall from recent memory- from the Fisher side alone- there were 8 mv guys that started for them
including but not limited to Jimmy Smith, Rob Kramer and Kevin Dwyer

How is the night life better?

And didnt Fisher have that stud running back from Herkimer too?  I forget his name Reille?

How is the night life better?  I just always thought it was tough because to go out from Utica College you had to drive or take a cab... there wasnt like a college atmosphere bar scene ,,,, has that changed?

And didnt Fisher have that stud running back from Herkimer too?  I forget his name Reille?

Yo yo yo, Max is back from yankee stadium and an incredible night! Now whenever someone says "you have to have great pitching and defense to win a world championship" you can always say "what about 2009??" GO YANKEES.

I was happy for Girardi, though I was hoping they'd wrap it up on a night when Pettitte wasn't on the mound.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Quote from: BoSox0322 on November 04, 2009, 04:03:40 PMWhat Alfred is being exposed to is the opinion of some posters (from both teams) that if Ithaca and SJF arent the two best teams in the league.... then the league is down that year.... and Alfred's team cant compare to any of the good Ithaca or SJF teams...

lets Go Alfred...Fight the elitist....

Saying the league is down because Fisher and IC are having down years has nothing to do with how good Alfred is.

The league is down when most of the teams aren't very good.  EVERY year, Hartwick, Utica, and (the artist formerly known as Norwich), aren't good.  Therefore, there isn't any reason to discuss those teams when discussing whether or not the league is having a down year.

The only teams that are regularly good are IC, Springfield, Alfred and Fisher.  Therefore, those are the teams you talk about when you are arguing the league is down.

The same is true when we were saying that the E8 was having a great year because Hartwick was having an "up" season.  We didn't need to say that Fisher, IC, Alfred and Springfield are also good.

ok ... If Hartwick is so bad ... how do they have a winning record in the years that YOU mentioned vs Fisher one of the teams you mention... a team that isnt ever good wouldnt be able to say that.

Sample size, my good man. I learned that (sort of) when I stayed awake in Stats class.

thats the sample size that was provided to me

Ok. So in both cases it's too small. Just saying

That's what she said...

Absolutely phenominal...+K
GO FISHER!!!

From the ATE ...

"Alfred is 7-0 and 3-0 in conference, but has two games left, one against Ithaca (at Butterfield) and against upstart Utica. The toughest test for the Saxons will be in the last two weeks."

So Utica is one of Alfred's toughest test?

It's time for the Saxons to claim the Empire 8 title!

I'm going to piss off my fellow Ithacans. This is my prediction, not my desire:

Ithaca 24
Alfred 35

Our secondary started out bad and has gotten weaker over the course of the season.... but I don't see this one being a monkey stomp.

Rowan has only beaten 'godawful' teams and they are ranked 6th in the ERFP.....maybe Utica IS under-rated.

What's up, y'all.

I live in Memphis now, so I can say y'all.  Teaching kids.  And yes, dubbz, I can read.

Anyone have any extra Cortaca tickets?  I have one but several fellow Bomber alums couldn't make it by the time they sold out.  Thanks.

Y'all.

GO BOMBERS

Not only can you say it, you said it right.   ;D
