Bombers played a well rounded game and all aspects of the game were solid.  If by some chance alfred loses at utica then what?? With four teams with 2 loses? :o

Weirdly, Ithaca looks the best, because they have the toughest OOC schedule.

WRONG.

Alfred would win any tiebreaker for the football AQ; the next tiebreaker after head-to-head isn't strength of schedule anymore, it's fewest losses. If Alfred, SJF, Ithaca and Springfield are all 3-2 in the league, Ithaca and SJF would be eliminated b/c they'd have more losses (three) than Alfred and Springfield would have (two). then you have a two-way tie between Alfred and Springfield which Alfred wins via head-to-head win. If SJF beats Hartwick AND Utica beats Alfred then SJF gets the AQ; any other result (Alfred win and/or SJF loss) means Alfred gets the AQ.

Pretty much all AU has to do is win and they're in, SJF needs a miracle and a win and they're in, and basically all hell would have to break loose for IC to win the AQ...

Yes. AU would have to lose to Utica, quickly schedule a game for the following morning, and lose it.

Utica has shown signs this year, but I doubt they will be able to pull off the win next week. If I remember I think I heard/read that Seckey was back in the game today for AU. That would make the hill that much steeper for Utica to climb. Don't get me wrong that is what I am pulling for, but I doubt that any team but AU is going to find themselves on top of the league after next week.

IC did make things interesting this week, and showed why they are still one of the best programs in the region. They can always be dangerous.

Lets go Pioneers.

Utica looked good in the first half vs Mount Ida today...

Up 40-6 at the half...

However they had drives that ended in fumbles to start the 2nd half, turned the ball over on downs and punted 3 times...

Mount Ida then made it a 40-40 game before Utica scored with 22 seconds left to win it 47-40...

So Utica gave up 40 to Mt. Ida.

You know what, maybe you get a game against LVC or a NJAC team that can both help with your recruiting base and be a nice close out to the season.  Obviously worst case scenario is Norwich or a NEFC team.

Either way, you'll want to get as many games in before next fall to try to keep the Hobart game as close as possible.  ;)
