I'm not sure, but is Maine within the 500 mile rule for Alfred? The three closest teams I can think of are Alfred, Montclair, and Susquahanna. From what I have read Montclair is the most logical team for them to play.

I think Montclair gets the 4 seed and will play Maine even though they'll be a 6/7 seed...

NCAA has seeded teams and then made them play out of order (in terms of seeds) because of mileage...

Congrats SJF fans....I wish we played better then we did. Turnovers, short punts, not getting it in the endzone when we are inside the 20 again, we picked a bad time to play our worst game. Hats of to the Cardinals, they  played very well and that offensive line is huge. Two TE's Redskin counter trey just killed us all day.

The Hawks have to hit the recruiting trail and find some linemen.  It really showed today why upgrading the line play is so important.

Also, congrats to Alfred, nice to see local kids Manzer and Harding playing so well. I am sure glad they are seniors  :)

Yep, the NCAA measures Maine Maritime to Alfred at 671 miles.

SJF is very tough to beat when their offense is firing on all cylinders like it was today.  600 yards of offense (249 Rush/351 Pass), 30 first downs, an average of 8 yards gained per play, Zero offensive turnovers and no sacks allowed...

Next year they could do some damage with most of the team back, they do however need to get their special teams fixed.  Had another punt return mistake that led to a turnover and 7 pts for the other team.

I really hope AU gets a good seed in the tourny. I think they have earned it.  One loss to a much improved ic team on the road.

I can see a #3 seed and a trip to DVC in the 2nd round...

Hopefully that turns out better for them than the last time a E8 team went there in the playoffs...

Pep remembers listening to that game online in the library....Fisher had them beat!
On behalf of the Saxons, thanks to all the well-wishers! Pep is hopeful AU will represent the E8 well...and while Pep is anticipating a home game on Saterday, the band will follow these Saxons wherever they may go!

Pep is amazed how this year's band members come from such places as to likely cover the band's accommodations (per invitations extended today...probably unbeknownst to Mom and Dad) no matter where the Saxons may travel, should they advance. AU Pep Band has a percussion member from near Doylestown, PA; and, as Pep has stated before, a sousaphone player from Ohio whose twin plays in the Mt. Union Marching Band; all this after the band received royal treatment in Massachusetts at the home of a trumpet player for the Saxons' opener at UMass-Dartmouth (which, by the way, seems like just yesterday).

On Saxon Warriors!

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Congratulations to coach vos on his 100th win this week. I think the way he was able to pull fisher together after the tough loss to alfred is something that should not b overlooked by fisher fans. Gives us something to look forward to next year.

I'm pretty pumped about next year as well...

Schedule will feature Hobart and Brockport and the longest road trip is Utica...

Fisher has a good group of players coming back with Bailey, Zemaitis, Dechario and all but one guard on the O-line on the Offense.  On the Defense they have 3/4 DL coming back along with LB Moore and S Vosburgh...

It's probably going to be a repeat of this season where the winner of the AU/SJF game takes the AQ...

OK, all kiddin aside, I reread your replies Frank...so you think it looks like SC still has a shot at Pool C....that is crazy (not you, the ranking).  SC should have as much a chance at that as SJF.... .000000000000009

Same conference, SJF has better conference record today (and will remain if they beak Wick)

AU smacked SC, AU snuck by SJF

...and, uhm, SJF whooped the Pride on the road.  The stats were even more lopsided than the score.

Do you agree with the SC ranking?

Also, if Fisher wins tihs weekend, regardless of what AU does, they can at least claim a share of the E8 title. Just saying, in an argument about who should and who should not, Head to head, conference record, and hardware are pretty convincing arguments.

SJFCards,  What do you mean by "hardware"?   ???

If both AU and Fisher win tomorrow, they "share" the "hardware" (trophy) for E8 championship. Ty1983 is merely saying that Fisher is more worthy of a Pool C bid than Springfield because the Cardinals, after all, would have finished ahead of The Pride in the conference standings, won the head-to-head in convincing fashion, and earned a share of the title.

In similar circumstances, back in 2005, when a Brenton Brady-led AU defense shut down the Cardinals for a 13-7 upset win at Growney, both teams finished 8-2 and were actually Pool C candidates. That year, the final PUBLIC East regional standings had Fisher ahead of Alfred, which was ahead of Wilkes. In an argument similar to that being made now by Ty1983 that Fisher would more worthy of a Pool C than Springfield, the 2005 Saxons certainly had the edge on Fisher and Wilkes, for that matter, (Wilkes had beaten an UNRANKED team in Week 11) as AU had beaten Fisher head-to-head and finished ahead of Fisher in the E8 standings.

On Saxon Warriors!

Being a novice to all this playoff and seeding stuff, if AU and SJF have the same in conference record, and AU beat SJF head to head, where is the confusion about sharing "hardware?"  ???

its not being a Novice ... its having common sense.  Its ridiculous that they share the title.

dlippiel

Congrats to IC on their Cortaca win yesterday. dlip wants to extend his congrats to Brian Grastorf for his hard work and career at Ithaca. Definitely not an easy place to play QB. Grastorf kept his head up through a very up and down season and helped the Bombers finish off strong!

sjfcards

I guess I don't understand why it is so crazy that au and sjf are co champs. They finished with the same conference record so they are tied. That is why they call head to head a tiebreaker.AU gets the AQ because of their win over sjf, but the league ultimately had two winners.
GO FISHER!!!

BoSox is just bitter.  It's ok little buddy, maybe in another 10 or 15 years you will get a talent like Boltus and be relevant again.

Hartwick is such a system driven program...

If they have anything but a great QB they suck...

Pincelli and Boltus are two of the better QB's to come out of the region the past decade...

Check out Demulder's stats from last night..

14 Car, 76 yards...

Pretty good showing for the Senior...

However 9 Car and 70 yards came on the first drive alone...

He had 5 carries for 6 yards on the next 13 possessions...

And you wonder why you got blown out...
