Pep is certainly open to suggestions on how he could use the AstroTurf12... perhaps carpet the garage?

BTW, Saxon8: Good news from Deland, FL...the heretofore unclaimed house that AU built in 2008 was dedicated last week and is now occupied!

Of course, the Pressleys have been in the 2009 "House that AlfredSaxon8 Built" since November '09...

...and word is that pending completion of landscaping, our 2010 house will be dedicated sometime this month!!

this is simple....man cave w/ the turf....see if you can maybe get players bench or other seating area. As well as padding put around the goal posts...make your cellar or garage into a sweet man cave of merrill field. Put up posters on the wall of the field/stadium. Many of pbr's friends have done this w/ their favorite teams and it rocks when you sit there and watch a football game on tv.

Pep is liking these ideas...this could be fun! +K

This will probably get me branded an elitist Ithaca homer, but what the heck:

Pep journeyed to Rochester Sunday afternoon to catch some of the Eddie Meath All-Star Football Game that featured some Alfred recruits. Pep had occasion to meet a future Saxon and parents of another future Saxon, but wasn't prepared to sit in the heat. East rolled to a 34-14 halftime lead. Final score: East 55, West 35.

On Saxon Warriors!

Good to hear!!!! Glad that house we built in 08 is finally getting some use!!

How was the BBQ this year with Pressley's? Did you guys end up getting a chance to do that?

Off subject a bit...but is anyone else sick and tired of this whole LeBron James fiasco?  A one-hour special?  From a guy who has never been part of a single win in the NBA Finals?  This is taking narcissism to a whole new level...just announce where you are going for God's sake like everyone else and get it over with...

How was the BBQ this year with Pressley's? Did you guys end up getting a chance to do that?

The AU Habitat crew had a BBQ on Friday evening at the YMCA camp where we stayed this year and the Pressleys were invited and anticipated but his wife got delayed coming home from work so they didn't make the dinner. Nevertheless, they stopped by the camp for a visit and would you believe they have another baby? Apparently she was pregnant when we were there building but didn't know it yet, and had the baby sometime around Christmas. (I think they now have FOUR? children.)

Pep told them it appears that AU Habitat will need to make a return visit to build an addition to that three-bedroom house!!

We stopped at the house one day but no one was home. It looks real nice. They have placed a tall fence around their backyard and installed a top notch security system as, apparently, their house was burglarized soon after they moved in. Go figure. Goes to show you how desperate the riff raff are....to burglarize a Habitat house...a simple, decent, affordable home. At any rate, it was wonderful to see them again!

Good to hear!! Wish I couldve been there for that, they were a good time, good family.

Although I'm not suprised it got burglarized, we put together one fine house so the people were probably jealous!!

Congratulations to Andrew Rogowski, well deserving of the honor...17 or 21 FGs over the past two seasons and 81 of 87 PATs. Pops has reason to be proud.

At Alfred, Pep still wonders how many rocks would Rockwood kick if Rockwood would kick rocks?

Completely agree!! Lebron is in it for all the wrong reason.  And I am absolutely disgusted that ESPN even aired the program to begin with! It's slowly becoming no better than anything on the E! network or MTV.

The "most prolific free agent" in the history of the NBA? You know why? Because everyone know wants to become a free agent and chase the money.  You never had "prolific" free agents before because the best players in professional sports used to have respect for the game and what some would call a soul.

Winning a championship is great and all, although I wouldn't know.  But I can tell you one thing.  I would MUCH rather be known as possibly one of the greatest basketball players of all time that was notoriously stuck with subpar teammates than to be known as the athlete to turn my back on the City that idolized my every movement. I hope "King James" realizes he sold his soul for the CHANCE to win a championship.  The same chance he had in Cleveland.

Kobe stuck with LA after Shaq and they might have had a little drought but they were able to build a team around him again and now they are back to back NBA Champs.

With all the free agent shenanigans over the years, Pep has more and more respect for a "franchise player" who is loyal to their team/city and starts and finishes with said franchise.

Eh. I don't care that LeBron left. I wouldn't want to play professional sports in Cleveland either. Now, "The Decision" might have set journalism back a couple of...centuries...or so.

Completely agree, Here in Northeast Ohio, people are very bitter about it all especially how it was handled. Although I am not a Kobe fan, I respect him much more for sticking to his team and not making any spectacle like James did. James will not IMHO be remembered for his talent, but his "me first" branding approach.  A plus k for you in the Empire 8, Hope you have a great fall! :)
