I didnt see the IC game- but they did show- on paper that they can beat a quality team.
My concern is that after the Uof R game- Fisher has to go to Geneva and face a very tough Hobart team, go to UC for their homecoming and then get home for IC.
If Fisher gets through that stretch unscathed then all arows point to 10-0

Doesn't say much for Fisher's schedule. Hobart is the only team on that list that's any kind of question mark... I mean IC could beat Fisher, but no one here seems to see it.

After having the likes of Mount Union and Salisbury on their schedule the past couple of years this is a welcomed change.

Yeah, I remember when IC used to kill themselves playing two or three D-II schools a season. While I miss the AIC games, it's nice to know you're not in such a brutal schedule.

This is the one downside to the East's sort of downslide is it seems like there's no middle ground. You're either scheduling an MUC or D-II school and at a distinct disadvantage or there's no-one ranked on your schedule at all. That four-year stretch for Brockport was the kind of team you'd like to see more of on the schedule. Ranked, even maybe better, but not a team you just don't match up with physically.

Like in 2003, when there were six East Region teams in the Top 20 at the end of the year. As opposed to last year when there were just two.

The Wick plays Norwich, which can only win games in their cruddy conference, so they'll be no problem.

The Cadets are actually 2-0 in OOC play this year.  Granted it's against WNEC and St. Lawrence, but they lost those games last year.  If they take down Wick, they have a real chance of going undefeated and grabbing a Pool B or C. There should be a lot of potential bubble teams rooting for the Hawks this weekend...

Agreed - was hoping SLU would have come up with the win last Saturday as a 10-0 Norwich would definitely get in over a 9-1 E8 or 8-1 LL team....

Really? A team that went 1-23 in the E8 their last four years would, just two years removed, steal a Pool C bid from, say, a 9-1 Ithaca with wins over Union and Cortland not to mention two from Springfield/Fisher/Alfred by beating that lineup of stiffs? Ithaca, Fisher, Springfield and Alfred could sleepwalk to 10-0 in that schedule. Outside of Norwich, those conference teams are a combined 3-10 right now.

What in the name of Boise State is going on?

They'd be on the table before any of the one-loss teams.  The only other result would be the East getting skunked in Pool C because the committee passes them by in favor of another region for an at-large spot.

What in the name of wild wild world of sports is going on?

Is there a real shot that Norwich goes 10-0?

Based on prior discussions we've had on ITH with the head(s) of the NCAA DIII Football Championship Committee, there is some precedent, if not preference to take a 10-0 team over a 9-1 team....

While SJF was playing Mount Union and Salisbury other teams in the conference were playing horrible to middle of the road teams at best...

At least try and play someone tough out of conference for a few years before spouting off about schedule strength.  Go back through 1999 and try and find me an OOR opponent that's worth a damn on IC's schedule...

You have the Larries, Union Weidner and Lyco on your OOC schedule.  I don't see a difference between UR, Hobart, Port and Buff State and the IC schedule...

sjfcards

It is hard to imagine Norwich getting a bid over a one loss E8 team, but I have to agree they would get the bid if they have a 0 in the loss column.
GO FISHER!!!

That just sucks. Honestly, that would be so laughable it would be tragic. A 10-0 Norwich team would lose by 25 to Ithaca/Fisher/Alfred and Springfield.
