I agree the changing stories can get old, but on a page like d3football I like that they can cover several stories at the same time. especially in gameday.

I posted this on the LLPP but thought I would ask on here as well: Does anyone know the best places to tailgate? Park? Eat? Etc at a Hobart game? I haven't been before but I am trying to make the trip this weekend for the fisher game.

Responded on the LLPP - I'd consider the lot off St. Clair St (runs parallel to 5&20)...

Eating wise I'd probably recommend Parker's Grille & Tap House, 100 Seneca St, (315) 789-4656.  It's been around since I was a student/administrator at Hobart (which is a good sign that it's still in business all these years later).  Another joint I remember that was pretty good was Nonna Cosentino’s Trattoria.

A list from the HWS website is attached - Places to stay and eat in Geneva, NY

was there really only 5500 in attendance at the Courage Bowl?  Less than last year at Growney?  What is the point then?

Any thoughts on the SC-AU game? PrideFan thinks SC rolls: 31-14. Bold, I know.

I wonder if SJF sent a video of #12s one handed catch to D3fb.com...

I think SC is the favorite this week over AU...

I've got them as a 7 point favorite in the E8 pick em board...

The official number was 5,886 on SJF's twitter page, last year's attendance was 5461 at Growney...

The SJF fans held up to their end of the bargain...

Their side of the stadium was well represented, UofR fans and were scarce on the other side...

I think UR fans and students were either afraid of going downtown or the beat down they would receive...

I always see the key to beating Springfield as getting up 2 scores on them as fast as possible and force them to deviate from the triple option to try and catch up.  Without the Mandrix (copyright, Pep) I think that Alfred and Springfield will trade scores early before the relentless attack of the Pride wears down the Saxon defense.  I'm picturing a score similar to 2006 and hoping that Alfred has a chance to win it at the end.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

When I saw the catch that was one of the first things that popped into my head. What a great catch that was.

Thanks TGP for the info. I am looking forward to my first trip to Geneva for a game. Should be a fun one to watch.

Agree - I haven't been back in a long time so I am equally looking forward to it.

Should be a good one!

Just checked out the AFCA Coaches Poll. (5) teams represented from the East.

13.  Ithaca
14.  Del Val
19.  Montclair
21.  Fisher
22.  Cortland

Interesting how defferent people vote. I can't see how they have Ithaca ahead of Del Val. No knock on Ithaca. I can see Fisher and Cortland getting some love. Still it is really too early in the season. After everyone plays (5) games we should have a better idea. Let's hope the East gets stronger this year.

It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

That Ithaca ranking is absurd

I think this shows a lot of hunch-work on the part of the AFCA. "Oh, perennial winning season beat that other big school, Union? They must be good this year." "Haven't heard much of Fisher, they must be reverting back to pre-2004."

It's like an electorate full of JQVs!

They're gonna look stupid when Fisher obliterates IC again and goes 10-0.

Seriously, with the way the E8 has shaken out, it seems like every team has some big question marks but them. I thought Alfred would give them a game, and maybe IC too, but after the Saxons laid an egg vs. SLU and the Bombers' "One and a half yards and a second and long" running game, I don't see it. And forget the Wick (awful) and Utica (No defense). Springfield is tricky, just cause of that offense, but I think the Cardinals run the table

theoriginalupstate

I think Ithaca has the defensive speed to keep up with SJF so I don't think SJF obliterates them this year...

I don't think IC's run game is good enough to win them the game but it will be close...
