I'm like the Chuck Bartowski of Mayberry!

Our hopes of advancing may be on the shoulders of Tom S(ec)kywalker

So was that Bryce Larkin playing second kazoo in the band on Saterday?

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

If Alfred plays the way I saw them play against Fisher (offensively speaking) they can absolutely hang with Mount Union.  Their defense will certainly have to play their finest game this season but it is not impossible to move the ball on Mount Union.  The one thing that is so impressive about Mount's D, from all the times I watched them, is their red zone defense.  They lock it down when you are within 20 yards.  But Alfred has some big play ability so there may be times in which Mount Union won't even get the opportunity to play some red zone D.

I don't think Alfred will win this game, but it wouldn't be a huge shock to me if they played to their full potential and pulled the upset.

Early Week Prediction Alert!!

**MU - 35
Alfred - 24

**This prediction will surely change later on in the week when I start to get worried about how Alfred lost to Rochester and RPI.  I know Rochester improved the second half of the season and that wind played a big factor in the RPI game...But still.  They better freaking bring it against Mount Union.

Alfred has been a very tough read for dlip throughout the 2010 campaign. The loss to RPI caught dlip off guard and then to U of R threw even more of a wrench into who exactly Alfred is. Yet both U of R and RPI played well down the stretch and to dlip, seemed to take off some of the "WTF HAPPENED" thoughts regarding the Saxons.

dlip does not feel the Saxons will win but he feels they can, and remember inconsistency works both ways, maybe the Saxons will shock us again in a good way. dlip knows one thing he congratulates the Saxons on making it this far and is pulling for them 100%.

Go Saxons!!!

RPI played well at the end of the season?
Their last game of the season was a complete dismantling by Fisher.
Which leads me to question what the hell happened to AU against RPI AND UR.
I have no friggin idea how they lost those games.
I agree with boob- AU will be able to move the ball on UMU but scoring will be at a premium....Here is hoping tho.

Tough read for me too.  This was the toughest game to set a spread on.

I hope Alfred brings it because Mount needs pushed.  Everyone knew SLU was going to be a cakewalk, but I was honestly disappointed by Del Valley last week.  I really thought that game was going to be a close one for 3+ quarters before Mount pulled away.    I know the score was 7-3 late in the 2nd quarter and 14-3 at the half, but the game was never in doubt.  The Mount O moved the ball much better than I expected, but made their customary young mistakes in the first half to end drives that kept it closer on the scoreboard than it looked watching it live.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Hey Pride! The SC staff has been selected to coach the D3 Senior Classic. Does anyone know about this game?

boobyhasgameyo

You know this will be the 3rd team in the E6 that Mount Union will have faced.  Let's just make it official and instead of Buff State or Frostburg we just pry away Mount Union from the OAC.  Also let's find a way to sabotage Springfield going to the LL and then take them back.

St. John Fisher
Ithaca
Salisbury
Alfred
Utica
Hartwick
Mount Union
Springfield

Toughest conference in the country?  Oh yes.  A man can dream...

QuoteRPI played well at the end of the season?

Yes they did, compared to their 6-3 victory over Endicott and their loss to Utica, they did improve IMHO. Plus, dlip takes very very little away from ECAC contests. Obviously SJF is a much better team than RPI regardless. My point though is that the Saxon loss in Troy was a bit less shocking after RPI won a few and gained some momentum. It is nearly impossible to win on the raod at RPI in front of that annual crowd of 26  ;) Very very very minute point though...

fisheralum91

Why do you take little away from ECAC games?
Perhaps Fisher wanted to prove a point?
RPI didnt want to be there?

Is there anyone from Alfred coming to the game who would be interested in trading an Alfred hat or t-shirt for a Mount Union hat or t-shirt?  I have been trading for the last several years and am looking to expand my collection--PM me if you are interested.  I've traded with Cortland, Christopher Newport, Bridgewater, UWWW, etc.

What is the debate here 91? SLF is clearly the better team and dlip would have said so before the ECAC game. Bottom line is dlip's main point that The Saxons are indeed  inconsistent and very hard to read. Yet their losess didn't look "as bad" to dlip as they did initially, because both teams they lost too proved to not be awful.

To dlip SJF really "dropped" the ball this year. They came out of the gate like ****ing gangbusters. ****, dlip had them right with Del Val in his ERFP most of the year and was quite high on them until they lost to Alfred and the Pride (which aren't really bad losess but dropped SJF out of the E* race and a possible bid. dlip honestly thought SJF was going to run the table. Bailey and co are studs on O just seemed like the D couldn't get it done.

I can't speak to RPI in this game, but can speak to experience with Ithaca that yes, sometimes teams don't want to be there...
