Well, Carter will be a senior and they get Ithaca and Fisher at home.  They played Alfred right down to the wire.  And Susquehanna grabbed the LL title before running off to the CC, so turn around is fair play for our LL brethren!

Kazoo, I get that carter will be a senior,
but I saw them beat a very tired, dinged up Fisher team.

Im a little surprised at the love that SC is getting.
I know that they had a nice season, but those that have them coming in second in the conference- why?
Do they return a ton of starters?

Well, It's certainly not going to be Hartwick, Utica, or Ithaca. I'd forgotten about the additions (thought they were 2012) but it sure as heck isn't going to be Frostburg. I frankly don't know enough about Salisbury anyway, but they didn't have a spate of impressive wins (Union, Frostburg, Husson, Newport News)

As for Fisher, here's what you yourself said , "There are major holes to fill next year",  "not thinking that this is going to be a season to look forward to." Maybe you were just being cynical, but when a Fisher fan is saying that, it doesn't exactly scream "second best in the conference" to me

So who would you stick at #2? Is there a better "option"? (Pun intended)

fisheralum91

Im not stumping for Fisher at all.
Trust me- I stick by my cynical thoughts regarding next season.
I am just not a believer in SC.
I also think that Salis. is the logical number 2

I could very easily be convinced to flip Springfield and Salisbury.  I almost went with a 2a, 2b ranking but didn't.  And Alfred could just as easily have its two losses in conference play rather than OOC.  The last time the Saxons won at Butterfield was in the 80s, so that doesn't bode well for Alfred.  I think 5 of the 8 teams will have a legitimate shot of the AQ next year, but I ranked them based on my perceived probabilities that each would based on this year's results and who we believe to be returning.

In terms of Alfred's chances this weekend, I am realistic, its Mount Union. They are, well, Mount Union. However, that being said, Alfred is too good a football team to get embarrassed. They will lose but it will be the closest game UMU has played all year. I'll say 31-20 UMU

11 points?  I'll take that spread any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I agree. If you doubled it I am still a buyer.

AUKaz00

Absolutely agreed.  Pep and I are traveling to Alliance extremely pleased with the season we've been able to enjoy from stands and hoping for the upset, but I'll be surprised if we don't get monkey stomped.

Except that 20 points is 17 more than MTU has given up in the last three weeks
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Kazoo, Pep, E8 guys etal;
At some point dont you get tired of the Alliance arrogance?
Personally I am sick to death of it.
I know, I know they deserve to be to an extent because they are the best program...blah blah blah,
But once, just once Id like to see an east team punch MUC right in the nose.

maxpower

Mount has not allowed a TD in 15 quarters (three games + 3). I think I can understand why they think it's funny that people here are talking about the possibility of a close game.*

Remember, as well as AU has played, there will always be those five letters haunting predictions of their success:

R P I U R

And I seem to remember you moaning about how ridiculous it was that Maritime and St. L even got to PLAY in the playoffs. How does that not seem arrogant to fans of those teams?

If Ithaca was playing Becker or something in a playoff game, I'm sure I'd scoff at their chances just as heartily.

*Last time they did that was in '07.... when they didn't allow a TD for 32 quarters (at least), and ended the reg. season with SIX straight shutouts. WOW.

AUKaz00

Yeah, but they've never seen anything like me playing my modified kazoo!

Now THAT is a fact!  +k   ;)

Perhaps you could return to some posts than were made about how tough Del Val played Mount. I don't think that anyone of the MTU posters (USee ain't one) want to bundle all up and stand in the cold through a monkey stomp. Fisher brought a good game to Alliance in the playoffs a few years back, but subsequent meetings never lived up to the first one.

Arrogant or realistic?

Mongo like Kazoo  ;D

seventies raider-
can we settle on a little of both?

Look- you are the program that everyone wants to be.
We get it.

With all of that winning and a thought that a season without a championship is a season wasted, is a tough pill to swallow.

It is hard to imagine what kind of fire is in the belly of a MUC fan when you know whats going to happen prior to kickoff...
What the hell do you guys talk about at your tailgate?
The price of gas?
