On the Gridiron Report, Wlech said that Baez tweaked something a bit. Sounded really minor.  Looks like Kulp is being groomed for next year.

Apparently GB15's boy from Webster, Bergerstock, is pretty talented as well.  Could have a Kulp-Bergerstock 1-2 punch running behind Bam Bam.

Jose- understood, yet i think i may feel differently if my child was getting slammed on these threads...

Understandable to be sure but:

1) Attacking the FDC, who as I understand it, not only chanted "Nice job Fisher" but also shook Robinson's hand after the game, is small minded and petty;

2) I refuse to be referred to as a "punk."  We have been nothing but complimentary of Fisher's program after they beat us;

3) This is just more evidence of how badly some of the Fisher posters wish they had the kind of history of success we have.  Credit to Booby for at least recognizing that;

4) Their kids are 20 and 22, when do they get to leave the nest?  Are Er and WinMag going to head to the office in a few years and call their kid's boss a "punk?";

5) Dads living vicariously through their sons make me want to puke;

6) Mr. N, Lumpy, and Flash83 are the perfect example that fathers can post in here without resorting to childish name calling.  We ripped the Bomber defense the end of last year and a few times this year, Mr. N never whined.  In fact, he is very rational about it.  We got into a discussion about best FB of all time at IC and never mentioned Bam Bam, Lumpy never whined, in fact he offered some names that were not his son.  We complained about the passing game and how badly the loss of Espo was going to hurt us, Flash83 never said a peep.

In the end, I understand how that would make Er and WinMag angry.  But, that doesn't justify their response.

Jose,
Good argument,
Ill give you most if not all the points, with one exception.

Even a congrats wont heal a ripping during a game..

It's like calling your wife a bitch, and then saying that ya didnt mean it...
It's still out there...

Good points.  Some people just know how to handle things.  I think that this can illustrate the difference between IC and SJF.  IC is almost business like while SJF is a really tight family atmosphere who take anything that is said about them personal.

Why is it that IC alum can come on here and question decisions by coaches and nothing, to my knowledge, gets said about it? Then when a SJF alum comes on here and questions coaching decisions, they totally flip out and players and coaches send emails requesting them to stop posting on here?

Football is a very passionate game, it gets heated at times on the field and in the stands because players/fans get caught up in the game.  Players say things on the field and fans say things in the stands not because they meant to say them they just get caught up in the moment.

Fans heckling players is going to happen at all levels of football, except Pee-Wee hopefully.  Why parents flip out about it I dont know?  My parents never got mad at fans from other teams, hell half the time they'd laugh at what was said.

I think it is a little different.  Wife and Husband are not opponents.  I wasn't there but, of course the FDC is going to root against Fisher, they are IC fans.  Without being there, I am 100% confident that Er, Winmag, and everyone else in Red was rooting against IC.  I bet they all cheered when Juvan fumbled.  I think admitting a player is good after getting beat takes a lot.  I'd like someone to point to one other game where that has happened.

Thanks for the love TOUS.  If I hadn't already given you +k this morning I would do so for that post.  Bomber nation is every bit the family the Fish faithful is.  I know that because when I go up there for a game, I spend a half hour in the parking lot catching up with everyone.  But I think the expectations at IC are different.  When you know you are good, and you know you are the measuring stick for every program in NYS (and maybe the East Region), the criticism sounds different.  We are everyone's rival.  We know everyone hates us because they want to be us.  When you are up and coming, like Fisher, you just are begging for respect from everyone.  I think that is evident from the players' quotes after the IC win.  They were the equivalent of "Hey, look over here, I told you we were good, love us please."  That is understandable.  But, that also leads to thin skin and no acceptance of criticism.

fisheralum91

Upstate,
Perhaps you never played in any heated games then.
When it gets personal and ugly(Not implying that it did at the IC SJF game) things are said that do upset people.. Thin skin perhaps, but whe your son is called really nasty personal things, it is very hard to ignore.

PS- my folks werent of that thin skinned variety-
but some of my teammates parents were, and i can understand why they got upset...

fisheralum91

"Wife and Husband are not opponents."

Obviously you havent met my ex-wife!!!! ;D

Again, nothing nasty was said in the direction of either of your running backs.  I think when Robby was stretching out, someone hollared "Hey, is that an All-American warmup?".   The "where is he going? nowhere!" chant was also used  a plethora of times in the first half.  Was it the "rusty cowbells" cheer that brought such disdain?
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

SO REPORT ON THE FDC AND SJF FANS!! The FDC did its usual routine.  not once thoughout the game did we yell any You sucks... now, we did taunt and yell during the SJF 3rd downs but, so did SJF.  Where the FDC was sitting was probably not best but tons of fun.  Then after every chant or any good play from SJF numerous mothers and fathers would stand, turn toward the fdc, and yell & point saying THERE TAKE THAT or WHERES YOUR YELLING NOW!  (that is a mild mild mild version of the exact quotes.)  The FDC had a tremendous amount of class compared to the SJF fans.  They were running across our side and putting fingers to lips and taunting us.  AT EVERY HOME GAME, except cortaca, I have not seen an FDC member do anything remotely close to the acts of those SJF fans.  The FDC alumni would not allow it.  So much class is in the FDC compared to other programs its not funny.  What other schools fans would shake the hand of mr. robinson and personally congratulated other SJF team members after losing?  mmmmmmm not too many.
