I talked to an AU dad last night and he paid for his daughter to go to the game KNOWING that they were going to ROLL Fisher!
I cant wait to see him out this week!!!

I would have loved to have been at that game tonight. I was happy watching from my couch, but it is not the same. I am sure the AU fans were confident that the Saxons would win (Hell, I was), but Fisher played great tonight. In general the AU fans are always a class act. It is just nice to have some redemption for the last two years at least. Still a long way to go for Fisher, and this is still a very vulnerable team, but tonight was a huge step forward.
GO FISHER!!!

Pep is happy to be back in Mayberry. Congrats to the Fisher Cardinals on a well-played game. Fisher D played extremely well. And, when it seemed that the Saxons were moving in to take control of the game, they fumbled away the opportunity.

Any given Saterday. That's why they play the game. Now Pep is just hoping the Saxons can regroup and find the win column again next week when the Hawks fly into Merrill Field for AU's Homecoming.

IC tops Hartwick 27-13 in a game that was much closer than the final score indicates. Hartwick actually outgained IC in terms of total yardage. Without Dan Ruffrage's big day (75 receiving yards, a TD catch, and a huge kickoff return for a score) and the pick-six at the end, you could make the argument that IC would have lost the game.

The positives for IC: It's a win. Hendel did fine, especially in the first half, but he did throw two picks. IC's defense forced four turnovers, including the 95-yard INT return for a score at the end of the game.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The Cage is in IC's head. The score shows a team that was considerably better than its opponent on that given day, but the stats and the way the game was played say otherwise.

Very entertaining 4 quarter. I thought the Hartwick defense played very well in the 2nd half. Special teams have been an issue.

Very happy with how the defense is playing.  First team defense has given up 9, 7, 7 and 14. A few years ago that total was the first half for most teams. If we could stop turning the ball offensively.

Saw #23 for IC after the game. Told him I was glad he is a senior. The kid had a great game.

Congrats to Fisher.

However, As a fan of hoping not to see MUC shipped to the region that house a majority of the eastern team, I was hoping Alfred would win.  Now it's up to Kean, MSU, or Del Val to win out to avoid that again (I don't think Hobart at 8-0 would get the nod)

SJF is going to beat Alfred this weekend.

I wish Vegas had odds on d3 games sometimes.

Tough to argue with that. I think AU is still the best team in the East Region, but that loss will probably bring MUC into the East again this year. Too bad for the east, but good for Fisher at this point. Some year a team is going to go undefeated and keep them out, but until one does, the top teams only have to look at their own pads for someone to blame. Last year I thought Fisher had a chance, and this year I really did think that AU would go untouched to the playoffs to keep MUC out.

It is too bad that the East becomes the doorstep for MUC to go to the finals, but until someone can do something to keep them out, what can you do?
GO FISHER!!!

That was a painful game to watch yesterday.  Ouch!!  Well, let's pick it up against Hartwick for homecoming!!  Good luck to the Cards (that really hurts) the rest of the season.

On Saxon Warriors!!

Hope all AU posters got home safely..You guys are a class act as always.....I have no words for what I saw....Other than wow.
Here is hoping that this same Fisher team is the one on the field in Ithaca on Sat!

MUC 14  Ohio Northern 6.  Is this a fluke or is MUC not the unbeatable force we usually see?
I was shocked that the 24th ranked team in D3 kept this game so close.  MUC had something like 237 yards of total offense.  Thoughts?

The press release from  the University of Mount Union (who knew it apparently changed from MUC) says it was wet and muddy.  Ironicaly, Ohio Northern turned the ball over twice so it may be perceived a closer game in some respect.

Points allowed by Fisher's defense this year:

7 against Buff State
3 against U of R
56 against Hobart
3 against Alfred

I don't think I'll ever understand how the defense can look so dominant one week and so terrible another.

Our offense still sucks but a nice win nevertheless.

Well, maybe this brings back the idea that Hobart is better than we're assuming....

I think many posters would have expected Hobart to beat St Lawrence by more than 23-0 yesterday.  This season is a real puzzle with all the unexpected or unusual outcomes happening all over the place.

St. Lawrence's strength is defense, so it wasn't a huge surprise.  Coach Cragg admitted as much on "In the HuddLLe" last week, as he respects Mark Raymond's defensive coaching greatly.

It was apparently a real mudbath.

Seems like this is part of the puzzle as Utica put up 48 points and Alfred put up 36 points vs SLU
