Upstate

I was embarrased.  The game was given away.  And you are welcome.  The gracious answer would be thank you. But I understand that I won't receive a gracious response. So what.

BS, Fisher wasn't given anything.  Just accept the fact that your offense got manhandled, bitch slapped and thrown around by a defense that allowed a 50 spot the week before...

Oh and Ithaca still sucks...

Here's my take of Fisher/Alfred:

Turnovers aside, Alfred averaged 3.5 yards a play. Even without the interceptions, Alfred completed just 15 of 33 passes. Exactly how is that "giving away a game"? Aside from DeRosa, Alfred's offense did very little all game

But frankly, both offenses looked terrible. Fisher got nothing from the run game, and the pass game was okay, but not great. Naturally, this means Borum will run for 173 yards this week, Kramer will go 18-of-26, and IC's secondary will be shredded. But the Saxon-Cardinals game was pretty ugly all around.

Signed,
Poster formerly known as Upstate!

There goes the neighborhood

Cardinal Pride

There are definately worse places to have to drive for a football game.  The Finger Lakes region is absolutely fantastic this time of year.  I am looking forward to the drive to Ithaca to watch what should be a great game.

Go Cardinals!!!!

dlippiel

dlip is pulling for the Bombers today. He is hoping Hendel can do enough and the D can keep SJF in check so Ithaca comes out with a W. Either way dlip hopes this is a competitive injury free game on this beautiful fall day. Good luck to both teams!

Well, I have recoverd somewhat from the embarrasing gift Alfred gave Fisher this past Saturday.  Pep, any idea if the Saxons are ready for homecoming action tomorrow?

On Saxon Warriors!!

No an embarrassing gift is more like in 2009 with a few minutes to go in the 4th quarter when our freshman punt returner felt the need to let a punt bounce, try to pick it up but have it bounce off him into the endzone where Alfred recovered in the endzone to take the lead...Fisher lost by 3.  Last week Fisher tipped 8 passes, forced 6 turnovers, had 7 tackles for a loss and made your QB's look like 3rd graders.  Hardly a gift, you sound like a sore loser.

I have been watching football for over 50 years.  When a team's defense allows only 17 points and the team's offense turns it over 6 times it is usually referred to as "giving the game away", hence a gift.  It's common usage in standard English.  And in this case it was quite embarrasing.

On Saxon Warriors!!

And I suppose in your flawed analysis you are completely discounting the times Fisher carelessly turned the ball over as well?  I suppose Fisher "gave the complete blowout away" by doing that.

Saxontad is right.  Just read this clip from last weeks Syracuse paper:

Division 3 roundup:  Buffalo State beats William Patterson at home 42-27.  Morrisville State falls to Cortand on the road 55-14.  Ithaca hangs on at Hartwick and wins 27-13. Alfed gave the game away to SJF 17-3

Dammit 91...I hate you...boating, golfing, and a great day of football???

All kidding aside, enjoy...I got a throwing up 2-year old that is a bit irritable, and watching Toy Story 2 for the 3rd time today.  I tried to make a switch to Toy Story 3, but she wanted nothing to do with it...

Haha well then I guess I really do stand corrected.

Just back from Ithaca. A great game at the end. Ithaca was a tough out for sure. They moved the ball, but struggled to finish off drives. Big win for Fisher.
GO FISHER!!!

Salisbury crushed Springfield 65-23.  They are going to be tough to beat.  Right now they are certainly my favorite to win the conference.  Alfred seems to have lost a step with their difficulties in the last 2 weeks.  However, they could redeem themselves with a win at home over Salisbury next week.

Utica beat RPI 38-28, Frostburg lost to Wesley 45-17 in the other E8 games

Props to Fisher.  It was a hard fought game with neither team giving much for the other team to work with.  Another game that came down to special teams, this one not falling the Bombers way.  Both of Rogo's kicks never had a shot once they got past the line; a block and a bad snap/placement that never gave the kick a chance.  Fisher's overtime field goal looked awful and seemed to have a homing device to get it over the goal post.  That was the difference.  Very disappointing overall as I felt Ithaca had a great shot to win the game.  The losses don't get easier the longer you're around, this one stings...

Go Bombers, good luck Fisher.

Anyone have any insight on the Salisbury Springfield game? That looks like an impressive win for Salisbury.
GO FISHER!!!
