What does the first "W" stand for?  ;)  ;D

Now let's define SUNY.  State University of Brockport at New York.  er...

P.S. this reminds me of something from my broadcasting days... The college didn't really like it when we called them Brockport State and not SUNY Brockport.  However, I always thought saying "Brockport State" sounded better.

Kinda like "THE Ohio State University."

They didn't want State University of New York, College at Brockport? :)

My own alma mater wants to be known as The Catholic University of America. You see how far that gets them on our sites. :)

That is true. That's what it says on its Metro stop in Washington D.C.  Brookland-CUA.  :D

I was surprised that Maurice Clarett in his autobiographical series in "Grantland" used it -- he was really respectful of the school and Tressel and always capitalized "THE" in the name of the school.  He hated the AD, which rings clear in the articles, but he pays homage to the school.

Kind of like when Pitt wanted to be called the University of Pittsburgh and they removed Pitt from everything.  Notice how long that lasted.  NJCU hasn't been JCSC since 98 but many still refer to it as State and will continue to do so.

Yah Frank....because that fact that Maurice Clarett has an autobiography that ANYONE has read probably says more about us than him.  It's a sad case.....we have one going on in my town with the two time Mr. Ohio Football.  It's sad....mainly disgusting....and just ridiculous at a certain level.  Dumb Arse Kids......
