Well on to DVC...the scene of the 2004 'crime'

*One* of the 2004 crimes.... #nobitternesshere

It was totally a clean pick...

With no news about the health of Kramer, I feel good that DVC will have to spend at least a little extra time preparing for both QBs for Fisher.  That said- I really hope that Ryan is healthy.
This game is the one that gives me the willies.
As stated last week I was confident in Fisher being able to be physical and control the ball.
DVC is a different story.

Remind me to never go over to the NWC board again.  Half of the Linfield posters are arrogant d**chebags!

I am now firmly on Wesley's side, at least in rooting interests... Should be a good weekend in delmarPa

so 82 just did his lunchtime homework on score breakdown analysis of DVC....

They are undefeated of course, but lets tale a closer look, lest we not get too intimidated by the Aggies' record:

Their 5 biggest wins came at the hands of teams who were a combined 20-32.  16 of those 20 wins were by Widener (who benefited from wins over Kings FDU Stevenson and Waynesburg) and Norwich (Norwich sucks even at 7-4 in case you didnt notice....they started the season 0-3 having lost to E8 doormat Hartwick, Western New England and someother team D-IV team)

....So they crushed FDU, Stevenson (1st year program) and King's who had a combined record of 4-26

...These 5 wins were by an avg margin of 56-14.

In their other 6 wins to date they have avg only 21 pts while giving up 13....including two 1 point wins

The wins over Lycoming and Leb Valley, appear decent when looking at those team's respective records, but those teams spent the season piling up on the same weak teams like King's, FDU, Stevenson...etc...

On paper, their undefeated record doesnt appear even as strong as Johns Hopkins' previous undefeated record.

SJF didnt really light up any quality opponents this year either, but we do have 2 solid wins over ranked teams (AU at the time and JHU) and our losses were to teams that are either still playing (Salisbury) or came damn near close to a west coast trip this weekend (Hobart)

It is going to be a battle in Doylestown, just like last time and I like our chances with a Senior led defense that has shut down most of its competition this year.

the back-up looked pretty capable and you mentioned the defense having to prepare for both....Johns Hopkins commented after the game that they struggled having to switch defense philosophy mid game so maybe DVC will have a similar struggle having to prepare for both offense styles.

fisheralum91

That would be nice!
I'd like to get the DVC monkey off the back...

I did smite all of them that dissed the apprentice school.  But of course after I had been hit a couple times.

They keep mentioning winning tradition.  I feel like telling them when they get 12 championships come back and talk.

Wesleydad ... I've been over to the NWC board also, and your ACFC board, and I retract everything I said previously about arrogance, apologize for making a judgement without deeper research, and I'll throw in a +k for good measure.    :)
I don't think that pg04's d***hebag assessment was quite strong enough.

SU Backer

A few first round comments...Hobart-earned total respect in my book- great job. Wesley is tough to beat,  especially at home and to take them down to the wire shows that you all were very prepared, well coached and certainly talented.
Good job by Fisher in knocking off Hopkins on the road. Don't sell Hopkins short, they are a good team and well coached, so SJF earned their 2nd round game. Fisher will have to play fast, but they can beat DVC- toss up IMO, but I give the nod to DVC due to being at home.
No idea on the Wesley - Linfield game, I know Wesley is good, but those penalties show a lack of discipline that would scare me if I was a WC fan. Of course Linfield has the travel across country/time zone thing to deal with, so I truly can't venture a guess. It will be interesting to see how it turns out, as I think it is a good barometer for how top teams in this area stack up to the best from the west coast (and a top 5 team as well).
Ok, I was at the Salisbury game Saturday and I was impressed with WNE's QB, and several receivers and running back. Their offense played hard and did not quit all day...however their defense was unable to stop SU's big play ability. SU's offense is a machine right now, I have never seen them better. To me SU's defense lacked some focus in this game and will need to "get right" to beat Kean. With that said I like SU in a close one this week at home against Kean. I think they get the defense revved up for this game; Salisbury has a bunch of players from Jersey (especially on defense), and I know this isn't high school, but make no mistake these guys want to beat the kids they played with/against in HS. Extra motivation, Kean having to travel, and decent weather makes the difference in a tight game, with SU coming out on top. Go GULLS!
