SU Backer

Wow, what a game at Salisbury...so glad to have made the trip and watched what was one of the most entertaining games I have witnessed at any level. Salisbury and Kean battled all day and neither team blinked. Kean was as big, fast, talented and physical as any D3 team I have ever seen in person. The game was as good a prep as SU could have had before going to face the reigning Nat'l Champs. Congrats to the players, coaches, staff, fans and PARENTS of SU football. What a wonderful season this group has given us all. Parents, relish this time, as it passes quickly, please find some way to get out to UWW to cheer for these guys, they will appreciate (and need!) the support in what will be the toughest place to play they have ever faced. If your son is a senior, you must go! If he is a underclassman, there are no promises to get this far again! Can't forget a congrats to E8 brethren SJF too.  Salisbury-Play hard, don't be intimidated and as always Go GULLS!

Woops- yeah... Maybe im a little grumpy this am, but they drive me nuts.....And i have relatives that are minnesooooooooooooooootans.

I had to jump in there.  I've never really liked when people call out one or two games while ignoring the bigger picture.  Who knows maybe I've done the same thing though...

fisheralum91

Thats ok.  It seems that anything East of Ohio is a buch of city slickers anyway that have no clue what REAL football is....

I gotta tell you, even though we got beat in our ventures to Alliance, one thing would always ring true- the UMU faithful were for th most part classy.
They win all the time and they love it but dont rub your nose in it.
UWW and ST T fans....not so much.
Act like ya been there!

You have first hand knowledge of this?? I don't remember a UWW team ever playing an E8 team for you to make this judgement.

Or you just going by what you heard....so it must be true  ::)

Fisher fans, looking at the St. Thomas schedule it does not look like they played more than 1 or 2 good teams.  Bethel is a solid program and that game looked rather even.  The usual MIAC power St. Johns is way off this year.  Fisher is likely the best team they have played all year.  I am not sure about Bethel's size or physicallity but they are not likely any bigger or more physical than Fisher.  Stats are easily misleading and I think that the Tommies' may be.  From an early, quick look at things I think Fisher has a good chance of winning this game.  The weather could always play a part in the game since it is in Minnesota.  Unless you guys are afraid to go play them based on their posters unbiased opinions about how good they are.

I wouldn't be so sure about talking down the St. Thomas schedule. With St. John's down, the conference was more balanced than ever ... and that balance limited the league to one playoff team as it usually does the powerful WIAC. IMO Bethel, which can be very physical, could probably beat half the playoff field. St. Olaf was ranking and headed for postseason until the rejuvenated Johnnies  took them out late in the year.

That said a team like SJF could wake up the echoes of that 12-7 loss to Bethel in last year's regional finals.

02warhawk,
Just a simple visit to the boards say enough for me.
I cant speak for my fellow East posters- but Im not fond of your boards and the BS and arrogance.

fisheralum91

I will say this- You (WW) fans have the oportunity to be arrogant....
You have the championships to back up the smack.

I'm an ODAC guy, so this time of year I'm usually pulling for a different team. I'm amazed at the West Boards. The amount of smack they type up is unbelievable. Watching the Linfield guys at the beginning of last week was just jaw-dropping. They were utterly classless while at the same time being unbelievable infantile. It was one thing when they kept it on their own board, but to invade the opponent's board was astounding. I was incredibly happy to watch the second half of the Wesley game. It seems like the St. Thomas guys are cut from the same cloth. I can only wonder if they realize how badly they reflect on their school and their program. Anyway, I'll be a Cardinal fan this week. It does my heart good to see a road dog keep running!

Geez, you take a day off the board and it blows up.

RE: WashedUp's comment about posters east of Ohio and their lack of a sense of humor.

It certainly is becoming a trend

I'd say the level of banter from your next foe is considerably lower than even the most irrelevant scribling seldom seen on this page.  Best way to dispose of this drivel is to quickly eliminate them at noon on Saturday.

I just came over to talk a little about the up coming games and what to expect.

It's a good thing you don't speak for your fellow East posters....I'm sure there's some more welcoming than you are who's willing to be a little more open.

fisheralum91

Wow,
You are right Warhawk,
We were so welcomed to the west boards....
