Drt,
Losing Acevedo is a huge blow.
Tho I do think the locker room will be better.
Kid had some issues no doubt.
As for keeping up with Salisbury....Ok. good for you. SU beat you and it seems as I recall Fisher went to the Elite 8.....
I like UC.  I know Blaise and he is a good coach.
NExt season may be tough tho with the O coming in to question in a big way.
Im also happy Fisher is playing in Utica this year!  Fisher alums tailgate!

Drt, UC lost to SU 70-45.. thats 5 touchdowns.  That is not keeping it close. Enough said

Actually, it's 25...which is more like three and a half touchdowns.

Wow. that is awful! my mistake, I will put my claim to rest

Well, if you're going to go all "enough said" on us, like there's no room for debate, at least be accurate in what you claim...

Since Pep hasn't said anything about it, Pep is thinking there hasn't been "enough said."   ;)

Fact is, UC was LEADING Salisbury in the second half and, fact is, UC scored 45 points on Salisbury. Six TDs and a field goal. Had the Saxon offense done that against Salisbury, the band would have had a very busy day of playing the fight song!

Get the fight song ready.

This may be a setback year for UC.
The D was not good and after losing a lot of punch from the O they could be staring at bad season.

Its odd.
One school that we keep hearing is on the "cusp" of things wasnt mentioned in any way in that article and that is UC.
Blaise is speaking highly of his recruiting class, and while their season last year was a mixed bag, I havent seen anything to prove that they are going to be anything different than in years past.

That's what you'd expect, right? Of course, you're going to be a fan of your recruiting class—at least publicly. That's why you recruited them.

words going around that the Acevedo kid got kicked out of Utica.. Blaise cant be too happy about his best player not being around.  Again I heard this through the grapevines from a pretty reliable source, but being from Buffalo cannot be 100 percent confident about it.  Anyone else hear anything about this?

Rumor in the Utica area is that both of their top receiveds from last year, Acevado and Meyer, are out...

If true, that is a big blow for UC...as their offense pretty much carried them last year.

Meier was 4th on the team in catches and yards, behind Acevedo, Jamie Murphy (39-424-3) and the TE Dunn (48-602-4). So there are still some weapons, but with Acevedo, Meier, and Larson all gone, that's a major blow to the depth of a pretty good offensive team

I didn't know Larson was gone too.  I thought he had one more year left.

Losing Acevado is tough enough...and I thought that Meier was UC's second best receiver when he was on the field/healthy (missed at least 3...maybe 4 games, and was limited in one or two others).

If all three are gone, it could be a long year for the Moose...unless their are some younger players ready to step up/in.

Great seeing you on the boards, Tad. +K  Pep was in southern Pennsylvania the tail end of last week for Creation Fest and, neglecting to apply sunblock, has a face that glows like Pennsylvania peaches.

Pep is still awaiting a list of the AU recruits, which Pep is told will number about 80 this year. As with every recruiting season, you win some and you lose some. It will be interesting to see how the Saxons look for 2012, what with a new QB, a new corps of linebackers and a challenging schedule. Six road games, only three at home. Ugh! Pep will be investing in new tires, a new exhaust system, and some purple and gold pinstripes for the new (1999 is new for Pep) bandwagon to take the band on its annual Fall Tour!

Yes, it's a drag having only three home games.  However, I am looking forward to going to Buffalo and see if there is any handicapped parking near Buff. State's football field!!  :)
look forward to seeing you in the fall.

That friends is an impressive schedule if you ask dlip...which no one did :)

Looking like they'll be 1-4 at least to start out. But yes it is very impressive. Having the E8 schedule and adding UWW, along with the two in-state rivals is about a 10.0 on the schedule scale.

Oh yea, that's great for everyone involved.  It also gives a big FU to all these crybabies that can't fill a 10 game schedule.  I'm actually willing to write Buff St a small check for financing that trip.  Good for them, and welcome to the E8.
