250 to 293??? wtf did he eat a cow? Something strange here to put on that much weight in that short of time. If true I can't imagine it's healthy weight i.e. muscle....I can see 20 pounds or so but 43 pounds in an off-season? whew suicides could be painful for that boy

I know. He basically ate 1/3 of Oliver!

But in all seriousness, I'm going off of listed roster weights, so it's likely not an off-season, but a full year. I'd imagine that's a much healthier pace. Basically a pound a week. I know very little about weight training, but I'd imagine that's not *that* quick a pace.

Also worth noting that the 2011 'newcomer' roster listed almost all weights as ending in 0 or 5, while the 2012 'veteran' roster has exact weights. I wonder if those newcomer weights are more estimates than exact weights.

Most times my karma hits involve venturing into the Politics boards. It does seem kinda silly if someone is actually doing that. I wish I had that kind of time.

(By the way, this is my 6000th post! In the words of Joey Lawrence: "WHOA!" --- sorry that was really a dated reference).

Congrats pg04, dlip thinks you are an excellent poster and always appreciates your input/thoughts. +k for 6000!

Dlip gave up the political boards awhile ago, he honestly couldn't handle it. One of dlip's downfalls is that he gets emotional when it comes to politics, especially social issues.

dlip, for some reason, does care somewhat about his k now as well. Obviously it's not the biggest deal but there is something about is ya know.

Bombers do you think there is a chance they'll use the kid in the backfield. Union has had a couple of very undersized but quick runners in the past decade. In fact they have a TB named T.J. Franzese now who is small but quick. Dlip is very high on this kid and thinks he will do very well this season. These little guys can be nasty and realy change things up for the O.

*disclaimer: dlip is not just saying this because of his small stature...well maybe Napoleon is saying it partially for this reason :)

Honestly, unless someone's tossing out personal insults, I never really see the reason to ding anyone. I'm sure I've done it in the past, but honestly, it's just not my thing. I feel like there was one guy "FishFan" or something, a couple years ago, who just went out of his way to say antagonistic things, and he got pretty deep into the negative. But honestly those guys peter out quickly, and this is a pretty civil board considering it's sports. Heck, Bomber3 and I disagreed on everything but when I introduced myself to him, we got along just great.

Honestly, I stay away from most other message boards, especially with regard to sports, because honestly, people take stuff way too seriously. It's like people want things to be their own echo chamber where they don't hear anything except things that confirm what they already believe. I may think Josh Felicetti was better than Tim Bailey, but I'm not going to get angry if some Fisher fan believes the opposite.

But politics? I stay out of that almost entirely. All I argue for is curb cuts, shoveled sidewalks, and bathroom stalls that are big enough for me to put a wheelchair in. The rest? Go nuts, but I'm staying out of it.

(Seriously though. If you've got someone in a wheelchair in your neighborhood, remember that that last inch of snow is easy to walk on, but a pain to wheel through. Blades down, fellas! Thanks!)

I hear IC's putting him at WR, but based on what I know about IC and their backs, not unless he gets a lot bigger. They just don't do the small backs, unless it's in compliment to a bigger back. (Scott to Parker, for a dated example). Honestly, with their horrible, horrible line, a small back's probably not going to do much good. You're hitting bodies pretty quick and almost never getting into the 2nd level anyway (much less the open field). And again, this kid borders on tiny. 155? I'm sure he'll bulk up some, but man that seems small to me.

Everything I've heard puts IC at around the same drab offense this year. It's going to be at least two more before some of this talent pays off

Probably a good move to give up on them. I should as well. I just post to point out some of the most egregious things I see from posters. Some of the -- ahem-- prominent members there don't allow for any disagreement without insults and calls of anti-americanism. However, I don't want to turn THIS into a new discussion.

So, +K to you and everyone else on this page.

How dare you sir!!!!

Any word on how the QB from Hornell looks for IC? That kid was really good in high school, and I know IC was happy he decided on the Bombers. How has he done in camp?

I haven't heard specifics, only that Ithaca's "not good enough up front, or RB, or QB" to be a serious threat. But who knows, half of that QB stuff could be Jason Hendel's doing.

I talked to someone in the scouting dept. from a D-I school where Scavo was considering walking on and heard that he was "a little tight, limited athletically, with a good release and average spin. Good D3 QB, average D1 walk-on"

IC's been historically reticent to hand the keys to the freshmen (Remember, this is the same school that, when starting from scratch at the QB position 2002, initially went with Ryan Steenberg over Felicetti.) Mostly, Freshman QB's only get their shot due to injury/ineptitude. I vote for Scavo, because really, what is there to lose? Why have him waste a year on the bench to go back to a well that isn't giving water? Unless you're terribly concerned that your offensive line will turn him into David Carr, I say give him the ball and let the Scavo era begin.

Fisher has the roster up on their webpage for anyone looking for a list of who they have in camp:

Found something interesting, looks like they got a Mount Union transfer.  Zach Hildebrand, a LBer, even though he's listed as a Freshman on the SJFC website he was listed as a SO for MUC. His twitter account also says he plays for MUC but his most recent tweets says "Day four of fisher football. Another day to show my skills"...

If he's any good (he's listed at 6'2" and 225lbs) you add him to a D featuring 5th year SRs Benderski, Leavell, Burdick as well as Sant, Dolan, Kline, Tones, Bellucco and Judd.  It looks to be a very experienced starting D and could possibly be the best D they've fielded.  I don't think they'll be able to rush the passer like the 04 team but they should be able to keep the majority of their opponents to under 17 points...

Looks like they may have more than a few pairs of brothers (or relatives) on the team. That is unless all those last names are coincidences? Seems to dlip that in any sport you build family histories and/or pipelines it almost always turns out to be a good thing.

Looks like Fisher got another weapon in the backfield...

Saw that kid and thought he looked really good. Also check out this Taylor Byrne kid. Apparently the #1 receiver in section 5, and #3 in the state (according to his video).

Love the potential for this Fisher team.
Cant wait for the season!
