The E8 sched still gives me some uneasy feelings, but i am really looking forward to the games to come!
Buff State, and Alfred in particular!

Buff St is the one game that I'm not looking forward too...
yes I'm looking forward to Buff St. coming to WW.. should be interesting

Nah it won't be anymore interesting than any other 35+ point drubbing Whitewater puts on teams outside of their conference (and in most cases in their own conference as well).

Not a fluke, but the sentiment that I think exists is that unless it's the final 4 of the playoffs UWW will probably win by more than 35.

I'm a former UWW player ( 20+ years ago)  but I still worrry,  stupid I guess

kubiack78

We were good back then (87, 88, 90) but ended up getting beaten in the playoffs,  Whish we had the Internet back then haha

I don't think it's dumb. If I rooted for a team that was almost unstoppable, I would probably still worry every week too. You just really never know. It is very unlikely that Buffalo State will win that game, but there's always still that chance. Weird things happen in football sometimes.

boobyhasgameyo

So I got karma slapped a couple of times last night for what I'm assuming was my comment about the Buffalo State vs. Whitewater game.  The 35+ margin of victory wasn't hyperbole or me trying to be a jerk.  Here are their out of conference games the past few seasons:

at Washington U - won 34-0
at Franklin - won 45-0
vs. Campbellsville - won 54-14
vs. Adrian - won 35-0
vs. Dakota State - won 70-7
at Campbellsville - won 37-7
at. Dickinson State - won 38-3
vs. Midland Lutheran - won 58-0
vs. Puget Sound - won 42-7

Sooooooo yeah.  I hope now you can reverse the slap and karma hug me whoever you are, unless the truth pisses you off and you felt the need to take it out on me.

dlippiel

Dlip thinks your thoughts are right on booby, +k!! Dlip is quite high on Biff State BUT he feels they will be completely overwhelmed against DUB DUB and are going to get rolled and Monkey stomped. Believe dlip, he hopes it goes differently, but it most likely won't.

Happy labor day all.
Enjoy the cookouts and safe travels.
Week 2 on its way!! Cant wait!

Hey Booby - nice "loser" attitude.  Buff State offense is good and its passing game will be a challenge for UWW defense. Maybe Booby would be better suited to becoming a fan of the Knitting Channel.

It's reality, even though Buff St had a hot start Saturday there's no way in hell they're winning at UWW.  I don't care how much they improved from last year, though it is tough to gauge how much they improved just off one game, it's just not happening.  I give them all the credit in the world for taking them head on though.  It will be interesting if their passing attack can continue to be effective throughout the year.

We really won't know much about Buff State from next week either while they play a really week Brockport State team and should really destroy them. So is their offense that good? Possibly, but the game against UWW will show that but I don't think they'll be used to a defense of that quality. Also, it seems their defense gave up a lot of yards and points against Cortland State which doesn't bode well either.

Good luck to Buff State though and no injuries!

fisheralum91

I appreciate that Buff State scheduled a big boy.
It is a good barometer.
I am a firm believer in scheduling strong.
Back when Fisher scheduled the home and home with UMU, there were some that discounted the move saying that it would hurt the players ans ultimately the program by taking beat downs.

Well a few years later and you can see that it was the right choice.
Good luck Buff State, represent the E8 well!!
