Fisher jumps a spot in the poll to number 9, Brockport and Buff St. tumble as expected.
IC and AU get some love, and Salis is sitting at no.7.
Could be a classic in 2 weeks!!!

Can't wait for Fisher/Salisbury in 2 weeks! Very excited that Fisher has a bye to prepare for that offense, and athleticism.

Hopefully my beloved BENGALS can "tenderize Salisbury" for you this coming weekend! (Sounds horrible :-[  but I had to try!) ;)

Given this season, Buffalo State will probably beat Salisbury 90-0.

Looking forward to the game between Salisbury and Buffalo State, I know we played them back in '04 and '05 seasons, but I believe Coach Boyles was not there. Nevertheless, I believe this is going to be a good test for both teams, especially for Buffalo State, when was the last time the seen the option (maybe '04 or '05)?

As for the Salisbury Steak jokes, if any of you have tried it, when its prepared well, they can be pretty darn good and hard to beat.  ;)

Any news on DeRossa injury?

Pep draws a quote from Tyler DeRosa's Facebook page:

After breaking my fibula and dislocating my ankle, I won't play for the rest of this season. But it will take a lot more than that to hold me down and my football career will only sky-rocket as a result of this.

Pep is praying for a swift and complete healing. DeRosa is the man!

"The fibula is the outer and inner section of the two bones between the knee and ankle. It typically take a fractured fibula about 6 weeks to completely heal--this is assuming the bone is not displaced."

Got some board reading to catch up on, but here are my thoughts prior to doing any of that:

We finally have an answer to the age-old question - If a tree falls in Kaz' yard, will the Saxons win?  Yes!
Spent my weekend cleaning up from a downed tree and other yard work, so no PP for me until now.

Caught the replay of the AU-Buff St game on TWS last night and really was a tale of two halves.  On saterday I kept hoping that the game wouldn't get away from the Saxons in the first half.  Buff State had our number and we were fortunate to be down 10-7.  Buff State looked and felt like the better team, but then they just stopped tackling.  Beckwith finally had his regular season coming out party after dominating a scrimmage at the Grove 3 years ago only to blow out his knee after a TD and get red-shirted.  Hopefully DeRosa's season isn't done.

As for all these teams in relation to one another, I think Buff State/Alfred/RPI (you can throw in Brockport/Kean/Albright/Lycoming/Del Valley/Cortland) are all in that 20-70 range nationally, so the results turn on matchups and execusion.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

To early to tell pep! I sure hope so. Usually by weds. you can hear the the various little conversations that go on around campus. I'm usually there on Tuesday and thursday nights so I'm keeping my ear to the ground to see if I hear the sounds of CONFIDENT BENGAL paws hitting the pavement. I might even stop by today to hear what Jerry (Coach Boyes) has to say. He has a reputation of being a master motivator ( I heard him once, in March 2011, when ha addressed the BENGALS basketball team before they departed for Mahwah NJ for the 1st round of the NCAA's). He can get you going...if thats what it takes! Methinks thats what its gonna take for the Salisbury game this sat! And some blockingand tackling!

"Hungry"?? ....I hope they are famished!

Ouch. I have had both of those injuries on different occasions and the dislocated ankle was worse than the broken bone. Hopefully he can bounce back. That is a tough injury and I wish him the best.

Man that sounds like a horrific injury with the combination of the dislocation and break.

Good luck to him on his recovery.

On the injury front,
How does Fisher fare going into the bye week before Salisbury?

Any thoughts on Ithaca remaining undefeated after this weekend?
I think they'll need to put up a lot of points against an improved Utica
defense to win this one.
A road win by the Pioneers this weekend would be another big step for their program.

Ithaca's probably going to go 4-6/5-5 this year. Beating them, home or road, is nothing special. They beat Union and Frostburg last year too, and Moravian isn't good either...

I think this week will say a lot about Ithaca. If they beat Utica I think we can say they are on track for a winning season, even though the bulk of their toughest games is still ahead of them. If they lose, and are still looking at playing Fisher, Salisbury, Alfred, and Buff State then it may be another losing season. Unthinkable a few years ago.
