Hard to get excited about this Fisher/Ithaca game with both teams sort of playing for bragging rights. I don't know about other Fisher fans but I feel like all of the wind has been sucked out of this season for Fisher. Hopefully the team doesn't feel that way.
GO FISHER!!!

Cards,
I put it on Facebook and on here last week.
Season....toast.....
That AU loss was the dagger in the heart.
There is no way Fisher gets a playoff nod.
Hell there is a good shot that now that the players know the ramifications from that game, another loss is highly likely.

I wouldn't count them out yet, stranger things have happen in college football, especially in the landscape of Division III football.

You'll have to excuse FA91 for being a little bit dramatic and pessimistic  :P

SU-
I agree, yet in the many many years of following Fisher football, this team had promise.
The loss to SU was tough, and could have been (if the ball bounced a different way) the year we beat your team.
It wasnt, and the mental mistakes and blunders the following week to a good AU team proved that the season will be at best an ECAC berth.  That end of the 1st half was so aweful, id rather never remember it again.
Ryan K is such a great guy, his love for his team and the game is so apparent.  Those that come on here and bash him should get to know him.  His heart and soul is with this team, and with some due respect to a few Fisher posters-he was the only option if Fisher was to win consistantly.  Watch practice. Look at the leadership.
What you dont see on SatErday is the week of prep that this young man takes as religion.
What you dont see is his teammates looking to him for leadership.
Some called for Fenti to take over.  Next time you say that...Sit down with Ryan and then tell me who you would choose.

Diatribe from an old alum, but its my opinion.  And you know what...If you dont like it ...thats ok...Im really comfortable with it..

91, totally respect that.

However every Fisher poster has said they like Ryan. We don't come on here and call for Fenti as the QB because we dislike Ryan, we do it because the passing game has stunk for the past 2 years. He's a great football player and a great athlete but he's just not a good QB.

I'm sure he's a wonderful team mate and leader.  However those tangibles don't replace talent and ability. There has to be a happy medium between talent and intangibles.  Rob had a great mix of both, so did Fitzy and that's why their teams were so great on offense and made nice runs in the NCAAs.  Ryan has all the tangibles you could ask for as a QB, he just doesn't have the ability to play QB at the level Fisher needs to be consistent week in and week out.

This may be a bit of hyperbole but Kramer is kind of like the NFL version of Tebow. Great intangibles just lacks the ability to do play at the level that's necessary to be considered a good QB.

Upstate,
I respect your opionion as well, but when coaches evaluate talent, it isnt just with raw skill it has to do with what is inside the bucket, and heart.
I dont want to re-live the disaster that was Fenti's mental collapse, but that is part and parcel of what happens when someone cant lead.
Does he have skill- im sure he does.
Has he proven himself to be a leader and someone that the team can rally around. The answer is no.
Ryan is the starting QB for this team, and until someone can unseat him with better poise or leadership, it is what it is.

heading off to salisbury for the big E8 tilt today.  looking forward to a good game and meeting Pep.  I took Salisbury in the even up pickem but took Alfred with the points in the spread pickem.  This will be my first time seeing Alfred and from what I read they are run oriented so this game may be over quickly since the clock wont stop much.  thinking this ends up in the 21 - 17 range, but will not be stunned if the Saxons win it.

agree

as of now, I'm a little bit more curious on the AU / Salisbury game

SUADC

Close game in Salisbury today, SU holds on to win that game 24-21, after a terrible, I mean terrible 4 qtr. However, with leadership of Griffin (SU QB) and a couple of runs by Bennedetti, we move on. IMHO, we allowed Alfred to stay in the game, I believe every touchdown, came off a turnover. We have to do better. However, Hats off to Alfred, they fought hard and capitalize when they were presented with opportunities. Nevertheless, I think SU defense was great even though they appeared to be on the field for 75% of the game. I never witness this many TO so drastically since 2009 against Hampden Sydney. I'll take the W any day, but we need to execute better on O. We are to good to play that bad.

saxontad

Both defenses played well.  Our boys really played 60 minutes.  I am sure some Salisbury fans were a bit edgy at the end.  Good luck to the Gulls.

On Saxon Warriors!!

Kramer out today, Hassenian in today...

just got back from the gulls/saxons game.  breaks went salisbury's way in the first half giving them the 17 - 7 lead.  breaks evened out in the second half and Alfred climbed back into the game.  in the end, griffin and bennidetti were able to wear down the saxon d to preserve the win.  I agree with SUADC, the gulls have to play better than they did but some credit has to go to the saxon d, they are a pretty good bunch of players.  the d line is as good as any i have seen this year with the possible exception of UMHB's.  both teams took advantage of breaks, the gulls fumble return for a TD was the big difference.  AU had trouble moving the ball consistantly and I was puzzled by some of the play calling on 3rd downs especially.  All in all a good game to watch.  Got to meet AUpep and talked to #64's parents most of the game, really nice folks all.

St. John Fisher just scored a TD late in the 4th quarter to go ahead of Ithaca 21-17. Fisher now with the ball inside the Ithaca 20 with only 1:22 left to play.

Good effort by the O-line and defense tonight...

Held Ithaca to around 250 yards, had 3 sacks and Sant got 2 picks as well.  Run D was solid except for two short yardage situations that Ardoin broke out on the edge for 20+ yards.  He is very good, good feet and good speed. Ingrao is a beast.  Great hands and real good route runner. Sant and Burdick had their hands full all night with him. This year's Ithaca team compared to last years is night and day. They improved a hell of a lot compared to last season...

O-line had their best game of the year.  Got great push all night for Miller to have a career day. Miller reminds me of a "poor man's" Mark Robinson.  Extremely similar running styles, would love to see Miller run behind those 2004-2006 O-lines and schemes like Mark did. Of course that would require Vos to get over his infatuation with the Flordia/Oregon spread, but that's another story all together...
