Wilkes is in, Alfred is out, and Ithaca gets Union to get started.

Nice job by Fisher choking away the playoffs.....what a way to ruin a perfectly fine season.

Good luck Ithaca in the NCAA tourney.....show them what E8 football is all about.

I'll see you guys over on the basketball boards shortly.

Wow, i would of been killed last year for spouting off like that about SJF....

theoriginalupstate

Is there anywhere we can find out who is eligible for ECAC Toilet Bowl games???

I'd love to either see a AU vs SJF rematch or a SJF vs RPI game!!!

Jukebox Hero

Sometimes it just has to be put bluntly. They just didn't get it done yesterday, and there's no sugarcoating it. I'm not going to go on blaming certain players, because it wasn't just one player's fault. Alfred showed up, we didn't.

However, I believe that we could have beaten Alfred 7 or 8 out of 10 times....it wasn't our day.

What a tool...no surprise this is a SJF guy. Explain to RT how SJF can claim to be at a place with their program now where they can crap on ECAC berths. RT hopes SJF gets RPI and RPI dismantles SJF.

That's something that Cortland ends up with a five seed.

Union first round is a blessing for these boards, should be a fun week

The only problem I see with the brackets is that SJF and AU are not in, while a 2-loss Cortland (WITH A LOSS TO BUFFALO STATE) and a 2-loss Wilkes in their places.

Because of that, Utica should get an ecac game with a 6-4 record but they wont  :(

One week at a time......Union..

Can't wait for the wrath of the LL guys...this week should be entertaining....

Cortland, take care of business...I know both teams would give anything for a rematch.....

Alfred got hosed....gutsy team to stroll into Pittsford and take SJF...

As far as ECAC games go.......This is a Dad talkin' here.....take the game, one more shot to "suit up" is what I heard most of our guys say last year.....your families relishe every game you guys play..

Tecmo....I would love to hear your analysis of who, why and what's to come!

Hey there, not-a-hero, I can think of a certain team that plays in the E8 called the Pioneers that would gladly take that "waste-of-time" you call a ECAC playoff bid, jackazz.

Pat Coleman

I am very surprised about Alfred.

At school grading essays, but I'll be in and out throughout the day.

Ithaca fell to the seven seed, which I had a sneaky feeling they would.  Cortland's coach stated on the radio after yesterday's game that his team should be seeded higher than Ithaca. This was a good sign that Cortland would probably not only get in the tournament, but land the date with Hobart.

I know very little about Union.  It is an interesting matchup partially because of the bad blood the administrations have supposedly had in the past.

The two teams last met in an ECAC game a few years back.  I'm sure this will be brought up at some point this week.  This game had an interesting wrinkle as it was played by an Ithaca team who frankly from all I've heard, did not want to be there. Regardless, the teams have completely turned over since then, so debating that game does little good.

I know Union was supposed to have an extremely potent offense this year, but slumped badly in the middle part of the season.  Perhaps their performance against RPI is a sign that they have broken out of that slump.

They closest knowledge I have of the Liberty League was Hobart a couple years back, who I would compare them with Alfred talent-wise.

One could look at the snub of Alfred as the committee's lack of respect for the E8.  It's possible that Lyco's win over Ithaca came into play if Wilkes and Alfred were both on the table.

I believe the co-chair's of the East are Cortland's coach, and the MAC president which could possibly have played a role as well.
