This guys problems are bigger then what people say about him on facebook. It wouldn't get any easier if he moved up the coaching ladder to D1 and the pros.
I always find it strange when people seem to be bothered more by reactions to an action..than the action itself.

The number of deaths by drunk drivers are small compared to the number of drunk drivers. If every incident of drinking and driving were fatal, or even if a majority of them were fatal, I'd be more bent out of shape about it. And really, if there is vehicular manslaughter, does being drunk really make it worse? I speak heresy. But the number is really not that great. Certainly not as much of an epidemic as MADD insists.

But this is precisely what I mean by modern Puritanism. We have a law, we will defend the purity of our society by publicly castigating anyone who breaks that law, and most of all: there can be no forgiveness. It's not enough to put the guy in the slammer for a week or two. Not enough to fine him a few thousand dollars. It's not enough to take his job away. No. No, we have to glory in our righteousness. And for what...because he drove from the bar to home without doing any damage to anything but his liver. The guy didn't kill anyone or even cause property damage. "Oh but he could have..." And so could you, too, even without alcohol. And since I've had friendship and killed by both drunk and non-drunk drivers; friends who have died driving drunk and driving snort, I can tell you that at least usi g logic, there is no difference between the deaths. One is not more or less tragic because drink or lack of drink. Thus, I find this bit about drink being an aggregating factor entirely false. But that's just me. I've been told I have no conscience, so take it for what it's worth.

I liked drunk driving back when it was a little misdemeanor and the driver had the pay the farmer for running his fence, or the neighbors for plowing thorough their bushes. This modern hysteria of "zero tolerance" and taking away a guys job is for the birds. What a bunch of histrionic fairies. May as well get a bunch of kids to wave around Mao's Little Red Book.

So, yes, I call him a "poor guy" because he's just been given a Scarlet Letter. He may never work a decent job again. That's a punishment disproportionate to his crime. That's not justice.

That is probably one the nicest physical structures in the whole SUNY system.

I've met and liked/respected the guy.  He recruited my stepson.  But getting behind the wheel at 2 1/2 times the legal limit = (I don't even know what).  Sad to see.  Not that I'm an angel....
And Rev, I don't disagree with you.  Just gotta face reality and the consequences if nabbed.

Looks great! Congrats to Brockport and it's players that get to enjoy it.

Re: the Facebook post, I am not sure how to feel. I think posting something like that is totally in poor taste, and not something I would do/be ok with. But, the guy did break a law, and that particular law causes a harsh emotional response in many, so that sort of thing goes with the territory.

People really should not make an extra effort to see justice done with stuff like this.
GO FISHER!!!

P.S. that Brockport Stadium looks really nice.

Pep feels honored that the Saxons will be the opponent when Brockport State makes history with its first-ever night game. Perhaps it's fitting that AU, which hosted Brockport State's gridiron gladiators many Saturday nights in the past (back when, in deference to its Sabbath-keeping heritage, ALL Alfred football games were Saturday nights), is lining up against the Golden Eagles.

Pep is even more tickled that Brockport State has removed that hyper-crowned grass field with field turf. Pep's only regret is that he will be unable to attend the inauguration of Brockport's new digs. Pep will be serving as a groomsman in a wedding in Wayland and doesn't surmise the festivities will be completed before kickoff. Nevertheless, Pep is hoping the rest of the band will be able to make the trip.

On Saxon Warriors!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

Im not sure what to say regarding the whole Penree situation.
He broke the law and is going to pay dearly for it.
His step up to his alma mater and career at Fisher has been dashed and nothing about that is good.
Bad situation all around
btw-
Bports new stadium looks great!!

That is a big upgrade...the grass field could be troublesome if wet.  Thanks for the upload.

Pep caught some of the rookies' practice Monday...didn't really see much. But Pep learned that 187 Saxons started the season in camp. If it weren't for the fact that we can only have 11 of them on the field at a time, AU would be a force to be reckoned with!

Get the fight song ready!
