Targeting call may bite in the butt next week.
What crap!

Bombers798891

Ithaca easily defeats Moravian 31-7.

Sloppy game, as both teams have 4 turnovers. Ithaca has a staggering 126 yards in penalties and both teams had offseting personal fouls/taunting penalties. Bonus points to Moravian for being the first team I've ever seen taking a taunting penalty when down by 24 points in the 4th quarter.

Rakim Jones has 126 yards on 27 carries in his first start. Moravian does nothing on offense of note. Their lone offensive TD comes after a turnover at the IC 20.

Ithaca's special teams was unreal. Sam Carney runs a punt back to the 1 yard line, the Bombers down a punt at the one and get a safety on the next play. They also force and recover a fumble on a kick return. Few teams do it as good as Ithaca on special teams

The best development: The emergence of DAS BOOT! Ithaca has a sophomore kicker named Max Rottenecker. Drills two kickoffs into the endzone, hits FG's from 37 and 41 yards (Both had 7-10 yards to spare). He could be a massive weapon in a tight game. Moravian constantly started drives inside their 25 yard line.

Good win, but they need to clean up a lot of rough edges

I don't think Fisher has had a great kicker since 2004.  Today our kicker hit an extra point off the uprights and missed a 21 yard field goal.  Nice.

Boob- mentioned that same thing in the in game thread.
Its painful when you crossing your fingers for PATs

E8 off to an undefeated start so far

Wins over a team from the North and West in the mix.

Good day for the E8 and the LL today!
Glad to see!

Will Bean was the last really good one I can remember (2006). Scott Van Alst was good before him too. I thought the kid had a good leg when I saw him at the scrimmage, but apparently pressure breaks pipes. Fisher is going to need those field goals to be a sure thing to do big things
GO FISHER!!!

Had the pleasure of meeting Bean and his dad back in the day.
Nice gents!
Right around the time when I met all of the Doctors!
What a great group of people, many of which I call friends to this day!
I tip my hat to the Doctors!
Cheers docs and I hope you enjoyed the game!

Congrats on the Fisher win.  I watched it online.  Wasn't Otterbein kind of...like...pretty bad?  I know the view on the screen isn't that good.  Any one else see the same bad team?

On Saxon Warriors!!

Their D was decent but their offense was just absolutely horrendous...

Their QB was their leading rusher, he had a long of 21 yards, he ended up with 15 yards...
The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

Sounds right to me. They were 8-2 last year and averaged 279 yds of total offense.  They couldn't run it (2.6 ypc). And they graduated their QB and their only playmaker (a WR).  Unfortunately they probably didn't provide the Fisher D much beyond a nice workout on a sunny day!

Bengalsrule

My beloved BENGALS came thru vs. a competitive Cortland team (on the road to boot). They gave up 6 points to CSU on the first play from scrimmage and then out scored the Red Dragons 41-21!

What really impressed me was the play of Casey Kacz, and not his arm either. He rushed for over 100 yards (118) on 17 attempts. Last year he totaled 255 yards rushing in 9 games. Not sure if the CSU defense dictated him running like that (he's got to be in the running for top rusher of the week in E8), or just a sign of things to come.

An E8 sweep makes the day even better!

I-90 bowl next week in the home opener (vs. Brockport). Can't wait!

Go BENGALS!

It was an E8 sweep until the night games.  Frostburg bit it hard (no shock there) and Salisbury lost in a close one.  Somebody accurately predicted that upset in triple take.  Pat maybe?

At one point late in the first quarter I turned and said to my wife something to the effect of "boy if we get out of our own way I really don't think this team can stay with Fisher". I was happy/impressed with the win, but I can't say I think Otterbine would finish in the top half of the E8. I was listening to the pre-game stuff and they mentioned a few times that the D coordinator for Otterbine was preparing for the run/option look Fisher ran last year. I never saw them adjust so Fisher may have got a free pass yesterday as well.
GO FISHER!!!
