I think that when the league was formed, IC had a gripe...But now, I think they are (or should be) pleased with the overall outcome..

bombsaway

FA91, I think it is getting much better, but I have to say, and I know it may come off as being arrogant, but even though fisher is getting better as our some of the other teams, it's still like the red sox being a rival to the yankees.  Yes it's intense, yes they don't like one another, and a couple times the sox have got the better of the yankees... but the yankees still win the division every year and are the more glorified team, as much as I hate them.

FINALLY ON LUNCH!  Good gravy that was a workout for a morning!

So, we are debating whether it has been beneficial for IC and the E8 to become one, yes?  Well, we can look at it this way, IC now gets an automatic bid to the NCAA's if they win and a pretty darn good chance with one loss in the season to an opponent within the conference to enter the playoffs.  The Cortaca game now matters more for playoff positioning, 1 through 5, than whether you get in or not.  Case in point last year.  If Cortland won their conference and then beat ithaca the story is different.  Anyways,  The E8 will continue to climb as will the teams in it.  It will earn more respect as the years go on and the teams in it will be looked at as power houses, if they are not already.

I think the joining the E8 for Football was more a situation where IC's hand was forced by the conditions in D3.  The playoff format had not been adjusted in years and, with all the teams joining, the Pool C bids were being spread much more thin than in years past.  Now, the Pool C bids are about as thin as the Pool B bids so, you don't lose anything by being in a conference in ability to get an at large bid BUT you do gain a shot at the AQ.

Quote from Bombsaway on NJ boards

FBking, it takes a real man, not just a king, a real man to take a shot at someone who died.  With that said, I assume you're saying you killed his father and he died dishonorably.  Which would reinforce my declaration of Rowan being criminals.  See, usually how it works tough guy, is you refute someone's argument not make it stronger.  But I don't expect to deal with a high intelligence level when talking to folk like you.  As for your west hollywood reference, another real zinger to make a homosexual reference towards someone living in California.  I guess all the creative classes they teach where you're from is how to hide your identity during a Seven-eleven hold up.

Phil, I've been to laker games floor seats, I've been to luxury boxes for the Kings, I just sat behind the mets on deck circle for the NLDS game 3, I go out to eat on the company 3 times a week.  I'm not where I want to be in my career, that much I'll admit, but don't think I'm living a life of fast food and studio apartments. (I actually live in a house that has a market value of 800,000) but like bportgrad said, it's annoying to measure our manliness on the postboard...

As for the rowan individual who thinks I can't "make it on the east coast" why would I want to? Make it in snow, rain, and cold?  Be miserable because I don't see the sun?  And I don't know anyone of my fellow grads making 3 times what I am, actually in many instances my take home is more.. but again, this board isn't about gloating and massaging our egos.

bottom line, if you think the Rowan program, while good the last half decade holds a candle to Ithaca's prestige, you need to go back to your juvi officers and tell them the GED's failed you and you need another class in history

You make a good point Real, it's a good fit if the teams all go in the current direction.  Just don't want to get trapped in a situation like teams in the NL West right now.  Sure, you win the NL West you're the Div. champ and you're going to the playoffs... but it's still the NL West, have your schedule is against Colorado (no offense yellow) and Arizona (no offense yellow) and maybe some rivalry games against the upstate team Giants (no offense b-27 upstate is nice)

I'm a Mets fan bombsaway, so none taken.  Although my mom's new boy's son works for the Rockies, so I get to go to Coors for free and get really good seats.  And going to baseball games in Phoenix was dirt cheap; they even had $1 seats...But I agree, trying to argue about who's the best in the NL West is like debating the best team in the 7th grade girls' softball league.  I'm just hoping both can make contact with the ball and make a halfway decent game.

yellow, coors looks like a great place to check out a game and I would like to do so.  dodger stadium isn't much to look at really, but the bleacher seats are like $6 and the atmosphere is pretty lively.  However walking in as a fan of the opposition will result in you hearing things about yourself, your mother, your father, and probably an aunt you didn't know you had.  It's practically gang warfare in the parking lot, giants fans, don't even bother showing up unless you have family who needs your insurance policy to survive...

Coors and BOB (or Chase, or whatever it is now) wasn't hostile at all.  Maybe that's because the teams were so bad, but when I went in late August for a Mets game all the fans around me were Mets fans.  We called it baby Shea since I would bet Mets fans outnumbered the Rockies fans.

My first parent/teacher conferences are tonight.  Any teachers have any advice?  I'm here 'til 9 tonight, and then conferences are all day tomorrow.

I wish my dad was here in case some parents are mean  :)

From Kenny Mac's ATN:

Worst moment
Thiel's Julio Fuentes suffering an injury with which he remains hospitalized in a Week 2 game against Alfred.

This would be the definition of "adding insult to injury."  At least he listed the Saxons as a Dark Horse.  Hopefully Julio keeps getting better, we continue to play well for him and have three exciting Saterday's at Merrill to end the regular season!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

AUKaz00:

Heard earlier this week that Julio has got some feeling in his legs! Keep prayin'.

I sent Keith a correction.

As for the Saxons being a "Dark Horse," the true symbol of King Alfred's Saxon Warriors is the "White Horse"...still trying to get our equestrian program to show a white horse ridden by a Saxon Warrior for AU football games as someone once did!

Got two more Peppers going to Utica...will have a six-person ensemble including sousaphone, baritone, trumpet, flute, drums and kazoo!

GO SAXONS!!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Well isn't this day just dead.... Maybe Fisher and Ithaca should scrimmage tomorrow just to spice some things up.  Let's meet at a neutral location.....let's say Growney Stadium 7ish?
