Springfield's as good as and going to go as far as the wishbone option rushing attack and Chris Sharpe can take them.

History's shown when Springfield has a good quarterback and a rugged, steady running back (or two or three LOL) they can win football games. Their defense could still be an issue and I think it will get a good test against Brockport this weekend.

That could be one of the fastest played games this season. Springfield runs the football 95% of the time and Brockport is a run oriented team. Combine that with the game-ready whistle and almost Arena Football-like running clock, and you may have a two-hour, 15 minute game.

After all, there has to be some time left on Saturday to see Springfield graduate and former starting center John Cena's big-screen debut in "The Marine." Cena was a senior center for Springfield's 1998 team that featured very good running quarterback Kevin Cahill and a large stable of talented tailbacks.

I think Cena last played in the 1996 season....

My first parent/teacher conferences are tonight.  Any teachers have any advice?  I'm here 'til 9 tonight, and then conferences are all day tomorrow.

I wish my dad was here in case some parents are mean  :)

If there are any mean parents, just warn them that you have Bomber posting friends with highly developed technological investigative abilities that will dig up dirt that will humiliate them beyond belief with no relief.

Yeah, I like that....

You almost sound as if you disaprove PepBand.

I think that guy humiliated himself.  We simply gave him enough rope to hang himself.

You're right. It was definitely self-inflicted humiliation. I should have added a smiley....  ;) And coming from a father who specializes in embarassing his children, AUPepBand doesn't think he'd have gone that far....but you just never know!  ::)

I don't think being in the NJAC helps them. From a football standpoint, its good. They play a tough schedule against good competition and intermix that with non-conference rival games against upstate New York teams. In terms of attendance, the NJAC hurts. I think people would want to see games against schools they know, like the Alfred's, RPI's, and Hobart's (an example) as opposed to Cortland hosting games against teams from New Jersey that the local fans aren't familar with.

But, that's just my two cents. Feel free to agree or disagree.

good point........matter of fact....excellent point......if i had a nickel for everytime a girl came up to me and said "whos kean?"

Thats a really good point....I think it is illustrated well too by Johns comments about the bball games with good crowds.  The CState kids know people that go to the other schools in SUNYAC but have no clue on W Conn, Rowan, Kean, etc.  Makes it tough for the whole conference to some degree.

That being said, there could have been better thought into the whole stadium complex.  There is so much room all over that campus and just about every outdoor venue is set up very poorly for fans.  That baseball field is one of the nicest around and has seeting for maybe 200.  It doesn't make sense.  There is more seating in the pool.

Springfield's web site lists Cena as being a Hewlett Packard and Football Gazette Division III All-American in 1998. Two years later, he popped up in California training at the Ultimate Pro Wrestling school under Rick Bassman and began wrestling as "The Prototype." It's said that I know these things :)

yea, your right.  For some strange reason I thought he was two years earlier.  Springfields Oline was usually all around 6'1-225 anyway, quick, fast, four point stances, firing out straight ahead, cutting on every play and getting one shoulder on a guy.  I havent seen them in a year or so but I think there still about the same.

Q: It's ironic that you were an offensive lineman in college, out of the spotlight, and now you're totally a spotlight guy.
A: I was the most the most no-frills player. I had an old Thurman Thomas facemask. I wore smaller pads to make myself look as small as possible. I had an extra baggy jersey. I was the most no-frills guy you could imagine.

Q: What was your favorite action movie growing up?
A: I really liked Commando and Predator. Those are my top two.

I actually met him at a redsox game down in Tampa once.  Pretty good guy.  Talked a little d3football.
