IF Fisher gets in, they will probably be a 7th seed, which means they would probably play Hobart. That would be quite the matchup because I think those are the two best teams in the east.

If Fisher gets in they're heading to Alliance...

From the way it has been reading (with help from the Pool C board), 2 spots were sealed all but sealed regardless of how today went (loser of JCU/UMU and winner of Oshkosh/Platteville).  That left 3 teams that Wally had ahead of SJF entering today for Pool C- Pacific Lutheran, Illinois Wesleyan and Wabash.

Wabash has won 38-21 over DePauw, Illinois Wesleyan has just beaten Elmhurst 24-10, and Pacific Lutheran (who seems to be the best of the 3) is off this week.

I thought it was Illinois College that was up for Pool C not Illinois Wesleyan...

Illinois College just lost 23-21...

I just checked again, its definitely Illinois Wesleyan (2nd in the CCIW behind North Central).  Illinois College could have an auto bid in the Midwest, but their loss clinched it for St. Norbert (who amazingly also lost today).

The ATN piece KMac did said IC but everywhere else it says IW...

So I'm going with IW...

Anyways...

SOS updates:
...................................................OWP..............OOWP......NCAA
..SJF (9):     8-2    .800    .5889 (19)    .5474    0.575
IW (110):         8-1    .889    .4810 (151)    .5486    0.504
Wabash (116): 9-1    .900    .5056 (105)    .4966    0.503
TM (142):     9-1    .900    .4881 (138)    .4962    0.491

Have to hope that these are the 4 teams left for the final Pool C...

One can hope, but I don't think it's happening this year.  Fisher may be the second best team in the east, but IC losing doesn't help.  IWU and Wabash are definitely getting in ahead of you.  Wabash lost to a very strong AQ (Witt) and IWU same thing to NCC.  Those are locks IMO.  You need one of the two E8 games back (Sals or IC).

The east on general might be in trouble reputation ally this year as IC lost to a pedestrian Cortland (and Hartwick) and Hobart has looked like complete foo foo the last two weeks. I'm not sure they beat salve or Gaulludet right now.

As they say............Im just glad to be considered!

If I were seeding the east If probably have fisher between 2-4, but you just can't lose to two multiple loss teams when getting a C is so limited.  Still surprised you lost to IC (in hindsight Sals as well, but in all honesty I thought you'd lose that one going in based on my incorrect perception that Sals was their typically strong self instead of just good).

Pumpkin- I wont make excuses for Fisher that day, lets suffice it to say they were a team.....um...."in flux"

Dlip thinks you may be being a bit hard on your pumpkins right now. Today U of R had everything to play for and Dlip thinks it may have been a challenge for Bart to getup for the Yelowjackets. Regardless pa Dlip is thinking Bart would explode on either Framingham and/or Galludet. Dlip is a big Bart fan now really hoping they can have some success.

All depends on the committee, there is a huge difference in numbers between the three one loss teams in Wabash, IW & TM vs and a 2 loss SJF...

The numbers favor SJF but the records favor the 1 loss teams...

Going to be a long 24 hours...

My feeling is that no Pool C for SJF, too many 9-1s to have a path.

Likely Pool Cs: John Carroll, UW-Platteville, Wabash, Pacific, and Ill-Wesleyan.  That leaves a 9-1 Thomas More (W&J AQ) and 8-2 St. Thomas and SJF on the outside looking in.  Being the top non-AQ team in the Regional Rankings I'm not sure matters as much anymore as the NCAA stopped regionalizing the bracket a few years ago -- any thoughts on that?

Likely ECAC participants: Brockport, St. Lawrence, Norwich, Salve Regina, SJF and AU.

Based on the way it has been described in the past, what happens when it comes to Pool C is that the committee will look at the highest eligible team in each region (so 1 from each of the 4), pick a team based on the numbers, then replace that team with the next highest eligible in that region and move on to the next spot (so the discussion in each spot is always 1 team from each region).  HOWEVER, they are not at all restricted regionally on the spots, so they can look at SJF for all 5 Pool C spots and pass them over every time (likely same for Thomas More in the South).

Good point. While I am hoping SJF gets the nod, and would very much like to see them play either Hobart or MUC, I can't see it happening with 2 in conference losses. The other 9-1 teams better seasons from fairly respectable conferences.
