Bethel just lost in double overtime to a team that was 3-6 heading into the game.  So Bethel is out of consideration.  I think Platteville is going into overtime themselves.

Whitewater was losing to a 3-6 team with 1:06 remaining, too. Unfortunately ( :P ) they pulled it out.

It's been a crazy but fun day in D3!  Whitewater almost goes down to a 3-7 team, Mount survived a John Carroll comeback, W&J went down, Bethel went down, Cortaca happened, I'm watching the Platteville game that is currently in double overtime...it's crazy.

Now I turned it on. 3OT we go.

Yeah!  We are into forced 2 pt conversion territory now.  It's a fun game.  Also, I forgot to mention Wesley losing in a tough one to D1 Charlotte.

Unbelievable finish to Cortaca as Cortland wins the Jug on a broken field goal attempt ending in touchdown pass on last play of game. Crazy.

I just saw the video. Could they have called the holder down? He was close (and I think he probably was) to still being on one knee when he gained control of of the ball.

Believe the rule allows a holder to be the one position where he can make a play after establishing his holder's (knee down) position

I thought so, but didn't know if the rule applied if there was a mishap. Either way it would be too close to say .

Seemed like Platteville had 8 downs on that drive.

Oshkosh avoids a fumble disaster and then wins on next play. ANother ranked team loses.

boobyhasgameyo

Wowwwwww.  Oshkosh just beat Platteville in triple overtime.  They nearly fumbled on the first play to lose, but then won it on the 2nd.

What an interesting case Oshkosh is.  They are 6-4 with 3 losses coming to non D3 schools and the 4th coming to Whitewater.

Anyway - Platteville is now out of consideration as well.  Fisher may not make it into the playoffs, but they are moving up the board.

+k to you PG for watching that game as well haha.

I've been lax with D3 this year but today was definitely interesting. Thanks for pointing the game out. I like seeing snow games.... This will just make things more interesting for the committee. More 2-loss teams than would have first expected.

I was watching too.  Crazy day in D3 as teams keep dropping out of the Pool C discussion.  I agree, Oshkosh has to be considered since the 3 losses supposedly don't count.  As far as Wesley, today, they lost a tough one and actually out gained a pretty explosive offense.  They are pretty good this year and with the big 2 struggling today, maybe the scene is changing or the gap is closing.  One can hope.

Here's my crack attempt at the at larges.
I don't know if its regionalized or not, but if it is, here's my logic:

No Region will get three at larges (I don't really know that, it just would seem unfair), so that means no 2 loss team from that area, North Central out.
I'm not really sure who gets Pool B's which may throw off the South and East.

North: JCU & Wabash
South: Muhlenberg and Hampden-Sydney
East: Del Valley, Framingham St (B?)
West: Oshkosh, and St. Thomas (bcz of Bethel Loss)

if Framingham State is a Pool B then second highest ranking at large East School is SJF

(I know its not likely, but that's what I'm hoping)

I wish SJF would do what IC does and say no to the ECAC bowl games going forward.  They are stepping stones for building programs in my view (UC etc.) but it just seems beneath the program at this point.

I think that the whole OAC played out so crazily similar to last year.  Mount Union may be back to their true champion form, but they certainly looked vulnerable today.  Wesley has looked top notch all year, and if they are to ever break through the semi-finals I think this year could be the one.  I believe this year, depending on how the brackets are formed, we may end up seeing one of the regulars in the Stagg...but another not so regular accompanying them.

Candidates to be the not so Stagg regular:

UMHB
Wesley
And my dark horse...Wartburg.  They are just taking care of business this year.
