Ithaca-Hobart. A good game, but Ithaca has a better chance at a win than I thought.

I don't think Ithaca will get to 200 yards of total offense in that game. Thats my bold prediction.

They barely cracked 200yds vs Fisher and won by 11...

Hobarts offense isn't in the same league as Fishers...

24-13 Ithaca...

They cracked 340 against Cortland and lost. Not to many times does a team barely crack 200 and win.

Hobart 27-10

My point was not that ithaca will win. Simply that, given that the team went 7-3 and could have played mount or Wesley, that Hobart is more winnable than those two
Understood. I think this will be a close game...but Ithaca may be tired from all that travel :P. The next round will probably be JHU and I've heard they cannot bring lacrosse sticks with them, but the football team looks like a great test against another bird( BlueJays..Cardinals, they are all the same)...if you make it past them, Wesley will be waiting after 2 uncompetitive games(MIT may program  some awesome game plan, though..oh and by the way, why does a college with a $12.4 Billion endowment need to charge for internet access to the football games..really?)...Hobart played Wesley tough in 2011(lost35-28) and the seniors have experience against them...however , to increase one's chances, you may want to petition the NCAA to compete with a combined All Star team from the E8/LL in the final 2 rounds to make the talent even  ::). Oh well, good luck to Ithaca and Hobart and may the winner never lose another game in the playoffs...we can dream can't we? With help from Stephen Foster...(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mOdWLG4bNU) We may need Mighty Joe as a middle linebacker against Whitewater or UMU. :o...I know it was corny but I am tired of all that sos, rro, owp, oowp...blah, blah...at least everyone's 0-0 now and no polls matter anymore.

boobyhasgameyo....+ for the sympathy. LINFIELD and UMHB have by now gotten used to having to be on an NCAA island. You have to win wherever they put you.
This does not help for the coming weeks....

Upstate

Apparently UC and Moo'ville will pop their post season cherry together this weekend in an ECAC bowl game.

Faggiano vs Fitzpatrick!

Congrats to both schools, hopefully they can use this as a stepping stone for future success!
The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

That is simply terrible.  I hope Linfield can come together because of this and not go the other way where they just can't get their heads in the game.  That poor kid and his family.

Man oh man.  Poor Linfield and Mary Hardin Baylor having to play each other in the 2nd round.  Whichever team makes it out of that game is going to smmmmmmmmmmash whoever they face in the 3rd round, which will likely be a MAC team.

Wesley is going to snore through their first two rounds at least and may not need to wake up in the 3rd round either.  They must be happy.

Ithaca was not impressive offensively, and while their defense is good, I think Hobart won't shoot themselves in the foot nearly as much as Fisher did.  Me thinks Hobart will win something like 28-14.  Although I am pulling for the E8.  If the conference continues to make strong showings in the playoffs it will help Fisher when they inevitably lose games they have no business losing and thrown into the pool C fray.

Lastly, I would be happy to see a Fisher vs Fram game.  I really hope Nigolian at the very least would be able to play.  And also, a home game would be nice.

Booby, this is what I looked like when I saw the bracket.  :D

Ha, nice.  Although I will say - come that 4th game it will be a jarring jolt back into high quality football.  Wesley might be sluggish if they aren't tested for nearly a month.

Booby - I would take a wild stab and say that the winner of the Linfield vs. UMHB would smmmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaash either Ithaca or Hobart in a round three game as well ;)

I believe that Muhlenberg and Fisher had a common opponent in Salisbury and both lost by close to the same margin (don't have it in front of me)

Once again, we have our Eastern powerhouse..................courtesy of our friends just south of Philadelphia...................Wesley. They will do the region proud ;D

My bad, I didn't mean Muhlenberg, I meant that Fisher and Christopher Newport both played Salisbury.

I was trying to get a feel for DelVal's first opponent (CNU) since most on the board felt that Hobart/Ithaca/Fisher would pretty handily beat Widener/DelVal in the NCAA's.

Salisbury beat Christopher Newport by 9 and Fisher by 3 so I'm going to extrapolate and say that CNU will probably beat DelVal by 7 point or so.

boobyhasgameyo

As has been covered on these boards extensively, don't read too much into Salisbury beating Fisher.

I don't think Ithaca could beat anyone handily in any game.

Having seen DelVal live and CNU on internet several times I would make DelVal favorite, but I think CNU has a shot.  They have a playmaking QB who refuses to quit.  DelVal can score if the QB is accurate, but the D is below average.  I think it will be a high scoring game and fun to watch if you are a fan of either team.

wesleydad - Although I would have loved to seen the DelVal defense with the five starters that they lost to injuries in training camp, the Green & Gold/Ursinus scrimmages and in Week One.......and the two starters who left school (All-MAC linebacker and best cornerback)............they very well might have beaten Widener, but a win or two at most, would still have been as far as they went in the NCAA's, unless they got an incredibly favorable (and lucky) match up in the quarterfinals.

We're hearing the next four year starter at QB is transferring in come January from a higher division program and with more upside than Knoblauch and Wilmer. QB has never been the issue since Knoblauch. Size and depth is the killer as at most schools.

jm, I have heard about the losses on defense and I agree that they may have made the difference in the Widener game.  They hung tough for a half or until the fake punt swung the game around.

Regarding IC potentially getting smashed by MHB, or Linfield or anyone for that matter -- while IC may not have exactly run up the score on anyone, (most east schools don't do that, story for a different day, pending 2nd round outcome for JCU), it is a team that has shown it can rise to the occasion, and has some true grit to it - teams like that don't get blown out or "smashed".   I'll say the same for NJAC, it is a tough fighting conference with few gimmes  -- I would not be surprised if a pair of 7-3 teams squared off against each other in round 2 in the Wesley bracket.

I love your quote about the MIT endowment -- but unfortunately there isn't any money to pay for Internet video unless we outsource it.  It's really a shame -- I see Johns Hopkins video with multiple cameras, slow motion, and replays, and I wonder why the school with the world's best Media Lab can't do something similar.  One the other hand -- we've got to get some new stands, or we'll never get a home playoff game.

BENGALS GET ECAC BID!!! Am I the only 1 that's excited??? ::). 1st bowl game since 2000.A little history .... Buffalo State has made 10 previous postseason appearances, including seven trips to the NCAA playoffs, and is undefeated in three previous ECAC Bowl games.  Most recently, the Bengals defeated Hartwick, 43-20, in the 2000 ECAC Northwest Bowl.  The Bengals also beat Plymouth State in the 1997 Northwest Bowl, and defeated WPI in the 1991 Northeast Bowl.

Good luck to Ithaca, Utica and SJ Fisher in their respective bowls. 4 teams from 1 conference!! Nice.  Here's to hoping that Ithaca will find themselves playing around 7 p.m. on Dec 19th!! ;)
