Pep,
Does Alfred St play at Alfred's stadium of do they have their own facility ? I'm guessing the former.
Pioneer Stadium at Alfred State is listed as holding 1500 people.  You can see it on Google Earth.

Alfred St used to have to play at nearby high schools for their home games...

It was pretty embarrassing...

Pretty sure that was when the program was junior college. Pioneer Stadium has been around at least since they began the move into D3.

Hence "used to"...

When I was there we had to play at Hornell and Wellsville High School...

However AU did throw us a bone once and allowed us to play Morrisville on the AU turf at least...

Happy SatERday guys!

Very interested to see how the E8 does today against a pretty good out of conference schedule this week. Hope all teams have a good game.

Seeing that RPI made a 47 yd Field Goal last week, it appears the kicking game may play a big part in today's game.  RPI had 8 punts indicating they couldn't get inside the 30 yd line as only 2 FG's were attempted.
Alfred's kicker, Trevor Monk, is consistent with his PAT's, made a 37 yd attempt last year and has been booming his kickoffs this year.

RPI appears to not have a strong passing attack so the Saxons will need to stop the run game. Husson had a very good RB last week testing the run defense. The pass defense should be tough anyway with three returning players in the defensive backfield.
With eight starters returning on both offense and defense, the Saxons could exceed their muted expectations.

AU will go as far as Johnson takes them. They are usually pretty solid on both sides of the ball and always competitive. However their success this year depends on the 4 year starter, if Johnson stops turning the ball over in big games they could get to 8/9 wins and be in the running for the automatic bid.

Utica is down 13-10 at the half against Ohio Northern.  They actually could very well be leading the game (or tied at the very least) but have had some significant penalties called against them.

One crucial pass interference on 3rd down on a ball that could be argued was uncatchable.  That extended the drive for Ohio Northern and they eventually scored.  Another penalty had a 50+ yard play that went down to the Ohio Northern 1 yard line called back because of an illegal downfield block.  It was a stupid move by a Utica receiver and wouldn't have even been a factor in the outcome of the play had the block not occurred.

But still it's been a fairly even game.  Good day for the E8 thus far.  Hopefully Fisher doesn't screw it up in a little while   :P

Don't worry booby they won't.

Annnnnd Utica pinned ONU to the 1 yard line on a punt.  Subsequently tackled ONU in the backfield but the officials marked the ball on about the 1 inch line much to the dismay of every Utica player.

What does ONU do?  Well go 99.99 yards down the field for the touchdown of course.  Maybe this game will start to get a little out of hand after all.  I'm not sure but it's 22-10 as I'm checking out to now watch Fisher play!

boobyhasgameyo

Nope, Utica has definitely made a game of it.  Down 30-27 with a little over a minute to go and driving.

boobyhasgameyo

Utica!  Taking the lead with 9 seconds to go.

I think that was a TD by Ohio Northern, but I'll take it.
