Bombers-
totally get it.
I am a little focused on the alma mater and not on a bigger E8 picture.
That said---does Brockport get the seed from the east if they win out?
And i ask the same question---do they beat a purple power?

The debate will be who is 1 or 2 between them and Del Val.  Brockport lacks the signature win that Del Val has over Wesley so Del Val may be slotted 1.  I can tell you this, I would love to see Wesley play them or Del Val again.  The east has some strong teams as they are starting to stack up.  If the final 4 in the east bracket, I know they dont do that anymore, was Brockport, Wesley, Del Val, and Frostburg, that would make for some good games.  Unfortunately with Husson in the mix someone is going to have to play someone good in round 1 if it gets slotted that way.

And there is the rub

Maybe they ship Husson somewhere unless they can play Springfield without flying which I believe they can.

Husson vs Springfield would be the right game IDHO.

By the way, super congrats to Fisher on the big W! dlip is very happy for the Cardinals.

Thank you, St. John Fisher Cardinals, for keeping the Saxons alive for the AQ. Mind you, Brockport State (and 'wick) still stand in the way, but Cortland, which had the head-to-head advantage over AU, now has two conference losses.

Pep has asked AU's "Dr. D" to pitch a shutout against Brockport State next week. He says he's on it.

On, Saxon Warriors!

Dr D has his work cut out for him!  Saw the Golden Eagles up close and personal yesterday. Scary good on both sides of the ball!   Many Bengal faithful were shocked by how complete a team Brockport was. Congrats to the Golden Eagles.... and good luck to Peps Dr D.  He's gonna need it !

Go BENGALS!!
I think the Golden Eagles this year are as good as the best Hobart teams from 2012-2014, the Fisher team of 2013 , the Wesley teams of 2014 and 2015 and Alfred of 2016. Their Defense gives up 1.2 yards per run, they have 36 sacks, they have 16 INT's and it all has come together in the last 2 weeks with shutouts against Hartwick and Buff State(both solid teams this year). The offense is equally awesome as Germinerio is a very efficient passer(only 5 INTs) and is a serious run threat, RB Justin Morrison is a train with over 7 yards per run, the receiving corps is fast and skilled, the Oline is the best I have seen this year and have only given up 4 sacks. I believe this team can win the East and go West and possibly make the semi finals. I will be very surprised if the Saxon Warriors can derail this train come Saturday...even with a thousand kazoos playing as a distraction.  Now, I hope I have not jinxed them

Re: Port as the #1

It's a tough break that Hobart fell off a bit and St. Lawrence fell off a cliff. That could have been a really good OOC schedule. Instead, they lack the signature win Del Valley has. But they're a deep, talented team who has taken some pretty good teams to the woodshed.

fisheralum91

Defensively 'port is as good as Ive seen in a long time.
Can they measure up to a mount union type ?
I believe they can

What must the Saxons do to ground those Golden Eagles?

What must the Saxons do to ground those Golden Eagles?

Defensively.
Shut down their top 3 WRs man to man
Have interior DL get push upfield to disrupt zone reads.
Fill both frontside and backside lanes vs the run to avoid their QB from making big runs.
Don't bite on play action.

Offensively.
Run at them not around them.
Keep their offense on the sideline and chew up game clock.
Don't turn the ball over.

No big deal, you guys got this!

A very excellent game plan, but you left out the thousand kazoos to distract the Eagles 8-)

It only takes one kazoo to take teams out of a game plan!

Indeed ;D....for my Alfred friends....I was attending a Harvard game a few years back and the Band all whipped out their kazoos and played  "One Thousand Men of Harvard"...it was really distracting to Yale and they muffed the ensuing kickoff return......Golden Eagles beware
