Hell of a game Bombers....nothing to hang your heads about...almost impossible to win when the other team scores 55

Great season AU!!  Way to end it on a high note. Looking forward to next year.

What the heck was Fisher thinking going for it on 4th and 7 with a 2 point lead and 4 minutes left??? I can see 4th and 2, but after that penalty it should have been a no-brainer to punt.....even if you're on the 35....

And then the decision TO punt on 4th and 1 early in the first quarter in RPI territory??? WHAT????

Props to RPI for playing a great game. Your band's pretty sweet too....probably the best i've heard in a long time.

Hey LL/Union, from what I heard it was an epic battle.  Your rb went for like 2 hundo huh.  Well great game for you guys.  I had the over at 80 so made the money, lol, joke.  Anyways, good luck the rest of the way.  Now that you beat us, I guess I can root for you.

Saxons....ECAC North Atlantic Champions with best record (9-2) of all Empire 8 teams for 2005. Congrats to Coach Dave Murray for his E8 Coach of the Year! This team really belonged in the NCAA Tournament. AU starters 56, Maine Maritime 6, final score AU 63, Maine Maritime 20.

Way to go, AU! Saxons...a young team on the rise!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

I believe AU also won "pep Band of the Year" obviously doing a great job inspiring the team.

One final post to the Ithaca folk ~

You guys are a class act and deserve the reputation which you possess.  We have tossed barbs back and forth all week, but in reality, Upstate NY continues to chase your program.  Union89 was beaten twice in the NCAAs by the Bombers in the late 80's under Coach Butterfield.....our tight-end replaced the nickname Bombers with Cornhuskers....If you remember, in the mid-80's, Nebraska football was the class of DI.  Behind closed doors, we talked of our desire to get another shot at the Ithaca "Cornhuskers."

Hopefully there will be many more like todays vs. the Liberty League.....

UNION 82

NEWSFLASH.....        NEWSFLASH.....

For a select few:

The most over-rated, undefeated team in the country
has defeated Ithaca 55-41. Superior League had rough day.

For the rest of you, good season and thanks for a good game, and thanks for sincere compliments received on LL Board from you.

Congrats Saxon Warriors. UNION 82 believes you should have been in the big show too.

Johhny Rodgers was my favorite Cornhusker.
