A question has been nagging me this season.  Why is Elmer Newsome not our workhorse back anymore?  Have you heard?

Saxontad

Go Saxons!!
As a personal friend of Mr. Newsome, I will be happy to forward that question on to him. Agree here that things seem different this year....not sure why.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

mioh won't be in town.  Probably for the best.  He was in town last night to watch the debacle that was game 7, then had to drive about 8 hours to the airport and is now flying west.

yes... not Buffalo country but, its ok

realistic

WOW - interesting poll on the front page.  Split favors SJF but a good chunk of the 400+ voters like Springfield.  I think this game could be a classic.

Let's go Pride.

at 5-0 or 6-0 whatever they are.  Springfield could be the one for spoils

Big hit taken to Cortland as Smith is out for the season.

Sorry to my Mets fans friends, I was bummed for you.  I remember the feeling of watching another team on celebrate on my teams home field.  I didn't like it.

is this still board chatter or has it been made public?

all Cstate has on their website is....

"CORTLAND CAPSULE: Sophomore quarterback Ray Miles replaced injured starter Alex Smith midway through the first quarter and led the Red Dragons to a 49-21 win at Western Connecticut State last Saturday. Miles completed 10-of-15 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a score.

Miles, a 2004 third team all-state Class C quarterback as well as an all-league basketball and baseball player at Dana L. West High in Port Byron, is expected to start at Montclair with Smith doubtful due to his injury. Smith has completed 63.5 percent of his passes (80-of-126) for 1,089 yards and 10 touchdowns versus only three interceptions in six games. Miles played on Cortland's JV squad last season, and this year has appeared in three varsity and three JV games. He will be the first person other than Smith to start at quarterback for the Red Dragons since J.J. Tutwiler at the end of the 2003 season."
