Union89 was more of an Irving Fryar guy..... ;D

UNION 82

UNION 82 wonders where jonnyutah is. Perhaps shooting new porn films?
Take sh*t from no man, woman, child, or small animal.

Yes the cornhuskers ran the score up on everybody.  This seemed to scare a lot of teams I think.  Penn State won National Championships in 1982 v Herschel Walker - Georgia (also beat Nebraska in reg season) and then beat Miami camo dressing players for 1986? National Championship in Fiesta Bowl.

UNION 82 saw the 82-83 Nittany Lions play at happy Valley, on their way to Joe's National Championship. Was it his first?

Also, why is there no "white" color to choose from, would rather
highlite Penn State in plain white?

Hey, good to see the Saxons thump someone today.

Maybe next year the committee will have a bit more sense, and not favor a crap (Wilkes) team over an upstate team simply b/c they are a non-conference champ in upstate NY.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Union 82,

I believe it was Joe's 1st Nat'l Championship.  I had season tickets for 4 years there at that time. Yes it was his first and 1st for the Nittany Lions.  I found my "pewter mug" which verifies it.

Union 82,

Penn State beat Nebraska  27 - 24
Same season they also beat Syracuse, Boston College and Notre Dame amongst others. Lost to Alabama

Bobby has to tip his hat to IthAca and its players.  They played one hellofa game.  Bobby was able to talk to many a IthAca supporter and parent and they are a class act.  Regardless of the tomfoolery which goes on PP these days.  The IC players played their hearts out and they deserve recognition.

To all Empire 8 players and fans, we bicker and we argue but it was a great year to be apart of this confrence.  We saw Utica come with there first? winning record.  We saw Alfred play like champions, and we saw IC and SJF battle it out to the end.  All of you should be proud to be a part whether you a fan, family or former player.  My hat goes off to the empire 8.

Union, go represent the east.  You have the fire power.  We are rooting for you till we play again.  Im gonna miss the verbal donnybrooks we had on here.  Till next year boys

I was kidnapped by the Union Coaching staff this morning before the game.  They said if I didnt give them Ithacas defensive gameplan Id have to sit in a room listening to Frank Rossi tapes of the 2004 Union-Hobart game.  As you know I told them everything.

seriously, I gave a spiel on the ll page.

Just got back, that was a rough ride from Schenectady back here, I'll tell ya.  3:30pm to 9:45pm, a car, a train, and 2 subways, yeck.  Good to see and introduce myself to Mr. Napoleone, who by happenstance was like 3 people from me.

Congrats to the LL on a great day, 55 points by Union, wow.  As one of my friends said, this isn't a football game, it's a track meet.

From my vantage point, looked like the off tackle plays and cut backs by Union were killing us.  They did a phenomenal job of finding the soft spots in the zones as well, and made some great catches.  They had a couple of fumbles that we didn't recover, and they recovered a huge one at 48-41.

The Bomber "O" looked great.  What happened to Donovan?  Didn't see him much after the 1st quarter, if at all.  Baez is nasty, he's going to keep getting better and better.

And a certain ESPN play of the day was that kickoff that Union won back.  That was one of the weirdest plays I have ever seen.  The Bomber kickoff return was nasty all game (and I can't blame anyone at that weird play, that is one of those times you just go WTF?).

And that was my first game in a while, and I can tell you I was really impressed by the FDC.  Very vocal, and even while the Union folks were getting on you, you stayed positive and into it.  We were even there with a first time fan, who has nothing to do with IC Football, just wanted to see a good game, and he was very impressed by you folks.

Good luck the rest of the way

Donavan needs to get healthy. At the Cornell scrimmage.  I asked one of his buddies where he was banged up... his answer... "everywhere."

I guess the Juvan era has begun. We were pretty spoiled with Felicetti over the past few years, but it'll be fun to see what the kid can do.  Guess Gordon, and some of the younger WR's will have a chance to make a big impact next year.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th
