Mr. N-

Fisher threw on them fairly well all game long, yes. Played a dangerous game though, they always put themselves in a 3rd & long situation forcing them to throw.

That led to my aforementioned comment about Robinson not getting the carries.

Springfield's defense wasn't on the field much at all - if Fisher had employed a grind it out running gameplan to chew up some time, things may have been a little better.

QB fumbles while passing....running an option? stripped?

If you're referring to Fisher's woe's, a lot of it was the exchange between the QB and center. The others were stripped out.

As far as Springfield, I think the fullback was stacked up and had it stripped out one time - the one & only time they didn't score.

CState,
I would not sleep on Springfield, nor caim that Cortland is better than them.  The Option is any D Coordinators nightmare when run well.  If you limit the big plays, the chance of getting nickled and dimed to death is worse with the 3 and 4 yard carries by the FB and QB.  Nothing stings more than giving up an 80 scoring drive with nothing more than 3.3 yard carries every play.

Very true. As I said before, even when Fisher seemingly had them in check they were getting 4 yards a pop, eating up a ton of time... Like someone mentioned before, they pound you all drive long & the second you make a mistake Sharpe's in the endzone. He makes great decisions and the kid is ridiculously tough.

The really amazing thing is that when they do pass.....somebody fell asleep....and many times it's a score.....

People have to register some time. Cut them some slack, sheesh.

Heck, Alfred could maybe even get in, though I don't know how good they really are as I know almost nothing about them.

Which is as it should be.  :)

this is the same type of team that spring field had a few years back they where steam rolling teams then they had one bad offensive game in the post seaon and it cost them, all u need to do is stick with them score for score, and get one or two turnovers, or luckey bounces and you can win this game, i would love to see ic win this game and set up another great cortaca game if all goes to plan for both teams that is

Alfred traded TDs at Springfield in a 41-34 loss with AU suffering the game's only turnover, a fumble at the SC 5-yard-line. For the game, SC scored on 6 of 10 possessions while AU scored on 5 of 10 possessions. Great game, but, like Fisher saw today, it's frustrating that the defense can't shut them down.

Not particularly. I would think so if Smith were playing.

As a Bomber fan that saw the game today I am a little pessimistic about IC winning 3 of 3. I think they could beat any of the teams they will play, but three in a row might be a lot to ask....

Today marked the debut of BRIAN GRASTORF, which was disappointing because all he did was give it to BRIAN SCOTT HOGAN to get hammered every play. We didn't see any of the kid's arm, but it was nice to see him get some snaps.

Utica's radio guys are awful. Simply awful. They said that Ithaca "had not beaten any good teams" (which may be true), but they also said "Fisher handled Ithaca easily" (not really true for the 1st half), that IC and Alfred are on the same level in the E8 (I think Alfred can win, but I wouldn't call them on the same level yet... AUPep thoughts?), and, my favorite, that Utica has "had trouble traditionally scoring against Ithaca." What does that mean? Like, when Utica does cartwheels down the field they score, but when they make football plays they suck?

Juvan threw a couple picks, the first one was just poor vision, but the second came on just throwing it into the air and praying KG could catch it...which he usually can, but the kid wrestled it away from him. Utica had no secondary other than that, and if Springfield's defense is as bad as you all say it is, IC's offense should be able to give them a run for it. As for the option... well we can only hope the mud at Butterfield will slow them down. Pray for rain before the weekend. Being a Bomber fan makes me think we can succeed where Fisher didn't, but I remember how impressed I was with Fisher's D after the IC game and if they got torn up.....

Everyone should stop talking about SC vs. Cortland... doesn't really matter right now and it's apples and oranges. Comparing teams in the E8 is one thing, but if you're just worried about the rankings, take the advice of Tecmo, just ignore them.

If IC can turn it up a notch, these next three weeks could be classic. Today I actually thought hard about a Fisher-IC playoff game...I get exited just thinking about it.

Go IC.
