I hate to look ahead- but Cortaca could have HUGE ramifications -
This could be one for the ages!

To me, they all have huge ramifications because College Football is all about rivalries.  I mean, National Championships are important but, in the end, it is still a good season if you win your rivalry game.  (You could, of course, have the dream scenario UF had in 1996 and win the National Championship by beating your rival in a bowl game).

Seriously though, the seasons are so short and the matchups are so spread out that there are always questions if the eventual national champ is actually the best team in the country.  It is just a reality forced by pragmatic considerations.  So long as we beat Cortland, we have had a good year though.

quick things....  Cortaca is only 3 weeks away.  hope we can get tickets!

Current weather in ithaca is typical.  42 degrees, windy, with rain coming sideways with flints of snow.

Superman57, shouldnt your tag read... "watch us beat ithaca and get killed by Springfield"?

Pep-

You need a sax, clarinet, or flute give me a call. How far is Alfred from Ra-cha-cha?

The Pep Band tent is getting full!  Kaz00's college roommate and an original kazooer is driving up from DC for the Hobart game and Kaz00 Jr. will be there as well (Alfred has never lost a game he's attended - 3 wins, 0 losses).

And Max, I usually make it to Marketplace in under 70 minutes.

  JoseQ,
The coldest outdoor cocktail party pic of the 99 Cortaca just made my day.  As I blew it us as my desktop wallpaper, I recocnized every number on the O line and almost jumped out through my office ceiling as the pulling left guard is none other than Xreddragon77.  That was a great game that day and the Police Dogs rippin it up afterwards will have mentally scarred a place in my history books forever.

Obviously Fisher has to win out to get into the playoffs, but even still- is there a real possibility that they get left out even if they do?

Yeah I think there is a possibility.  In the SC/IC/SJF 9-1 scenario, it is not unlikely that Fisher would be the odd team out.  Most of us think SC wins the AQ on the QOW factor.  (Frank Rossi thinks IC could surpass SC here but it seems unlikely).  That leaves IC and Fisher for the Pool C bid (because it is really unlikely in my mind that the E8 gets two Pool Cs...but not impossible).  Even though Fish has the head-to-head win, the committee doesn't always use that as the defining criteria.  IC finishing with wins over SC, at Alfred, at Cortland would be incredibly impressive and probably gets them in.

realistic

Dubz, others....got this from IC Alumni office today.  Looks like alumni pressure has made it easier to get tickets.

Jose,
that scenerio seems like a tall task for IC.
IF IC wins out I wold have NO problem with them getting the pool c.
We are talking about beating 2 nationally ranked teams in the span of 3 weeks..
Tall order- but not impossible.

No question that is based on a lot of assumptions.  But that is what we do, we assume IC is going to win until they prove otherwise to us.  Ha.  Seriously though, if IC goes down again, I think the Pool C is Fisher's to lose when it heads to PepBand's backyard.
