I happen to be the good looking kid in the Cubs hat.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

So I missed about 17 pages of posts by being on the road last week and missing the game.  1st off congrats to Union on a well deserved win... and Good Luck the rest of the way.

I wanted to send out some thanks to everyone for making this year my most enjoyable year as a Bomber Fan in 6 years.

Mr. N- The T's have elevated the FDC to a new level.  Thanks for all your help and the good times this year.

Flash 83- I hope the Fireball tradition continues next year.

Lumpy- I hope Mrs. Lumpy was kidding when she said you wouldn't be getting any loving after the Cortland game.

Booga- I cant wait to do the first Ooga Booga for Juvan in September.

Thanks to all the Seniors who have carried on the IC tradition.   Wow there are going to be holes to fill next year!  When you talk about losing guys like espo, (e-8 player of the year) felicetti, colon, not to mention Nick the Kick who came in after one of my all-time favorites Brian Bicher... these guys and many others will be tough to replace.

Congrats to all IC players and Coaches on another good season.

E-8 Champs!

We'll be back!  Next Stop... Training Camp.

I hope to see a home playoff game next year.

I can't believe Jamar Rawles from Norwich beats out Kelly Gordon for E-8 1st Team KR/PR Honors!

Kind of shocked to see Union get 2 first place votes, if anyone from the LL was going to get them i figured it would be Hobart....

After looking over the empire 8 all conference team selections, I found something that seemed a little odd in the stats. How is it that the leading receiver in the nation with touchdown receptions(22) and overall number of touchdowns(22) (13.2 points/game) from hartwick isn't on the first team offense. He had more touchdowns in just 2 games against ithaca and St. john fisher than esposito had in the entire regular season with 7 touchdowns and almost 300 yards. Anyone have any opinions?

Obviously the coaches think Espo is a better player. I'm not sure of this, but I would bet Hartwick was behind about 95% of the minutes they played this year. Any receiver can put up numbers when your QB is chucking 55 times a game. As we've said many times on this board, Ithaca has, and always will be, a balanced offense. No one runner or receiver puts up ludicrous stats.

That said, Willis had a great year and was recognized for that. However, Espo battled injuries all year and had two of his biggest games at the end of the year against Alfred and Cortland, respectively. I think if you asked all the coaches who they'd rather have on their squad, most(if not all) would pick Espo. This isn't knocking Willis, just a testament to Espo's skill.

Well its not just willis that was putting up ludacris stats, lindy crea had over 1000 yards rushing, 18 touchdowns and led the nation in all purpose yards as well, so its not like they were just throwing the ball up to willis everytime. Espo obviously has skill, but isnt it a lot easier to show off that skill with a more experianced quarterback as ithaca had.  It seems that it would take more skill to be tied 3rd all time in recieiving touchdowns in a season with a freshman behind center.

I thought Wick's QB was a D1-AA transfer. That would imply he's pretty good.

Maybe the coaches held it against him that EVERYONE on the offense put up such ridiculous stats but the team didn't win a single game in the conference. I wouldn't be surprised if Hartwick maybe won two games in the conference, they'd have received more recognition for individual honors.

Stats are stats, quality of play is quality of play, and never the twain shall meet! Pro scouts in evaluating potential prospects pay very little attention to stats.
