Rumor mill has Brockport off the Ithaca schedule for next year.  Buff state for sure.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

That's unfortunate, even for a distinctly one-sided series.  I enjoyed those games.  However, I can see why both teams would benefit for such a move if it happened.

Edit: Now I'm losing Karma on the E8 Board too!  Maybe I should stay in the ACFC board (ie the board no one goes!)

Having been there, I am not surprised. The line was up and down the top floor of the Hill Center, and then down the stairs to the second level. I was there around 5:45, started selling around 6:30. Amazing turnout.

Anyway, It would have been a much different game if on turf...I can almost guarantee it.  Nevertheless it wasn't and Ithaca won.

Portgrad, I am a big fan of yours, but come on...

There were at least three plays where Sharpe either collided with the fullback on the dive handoff/fake dive handoff or there just wasn't anyone there to take/fake taking a handoff when he spun. I don't remember that happening three times total with previous Springfield QB's.

Sharpe was not good at all at one of the most important aspects of the Springfield offense: the fake handoff on a pass play. Every time it happened it was obvious it was a pass. When Cahill was playing for SC, nobody, but nobody, would have had any idea when it was a pass play.

The moral of the story is that Sharpe was JUST PLAIN UNIMPRESSIVE against IC on Saterday. Also:

Springfield's only three second-half possessions ate up 20:34, gaining 152 yards on 46 plays but produced no points.

That ain't just slop working against them. And even if it was. you're telling me you want to win the East region in November without playing on slop??

IC played their best game of the season, by far, last Saterday. That is why they won. Whether or not they can reproduce it for Alfred and Cortland remains to be seen, but nothing should be taken away from IC for the 28th... Sharpe sucked, Springfield sucked, and IC took advantage. I remember Tecmo turning to me multiple times after the half saying "it's tough for SC to come back from any of this..." doggone it he was right.

IC PA guy... here's my impression of you at the Utica game:

"Test, test, can everyone hear me... alll riiiighhhht!"

Way to keep it together.

Hey, IC did the same thing against Sharpe last year.  Maybe they just know how to stop him and springfield?  What would make you think anything would be different this year?  Just because they beat SJF on turf?  Its not like they got a bunch of d1 transfers...

Sold out already?  WTF.  Just let everyone in and have the dogs and pepperball guns ready.....

Yes I watched the game online, I suppose you are right... Can't I try to be Anti-IC for once!

LOL...gee thanks.

Despite the slip-ups, I wouldn't trade the gig for anything in the world. Inside seat, looking out on the stadium and Lake Cayuga, and a pretty darned good team in the Bombers that didn't lose at home all year.

And they pay me to do this...

+K to PortGrad2004. Us radio guys have to stick together.

BTW, do you know what Matt Ridley (I think that was his name) or Chuck Wade are up to these days?

pg04

John, Matt was the PBP guy on our broadcast in 2003, and we still stay in contact.  He's a program director at a Country station in Geneva, While Chuck I believe was at Channel 13 in Rochester, but had another opportunity recently.

John McGraw

I knew Matt when he was with WBSU and then after that with the Batavia Muckdogs, same with Chuck. A couple of quality guys.

I must say, I'll never forget Matt doing his "Mr. Excitement" routine at Dwyer Stadium. That was one of the highlights of my summer in the NY-Penn League.
