Lyco, we used to root for Army on the sub.  The XO was an o-lineman at Annapolis and my division officer was a tight end for the middies.  We used to bet the XO and My DO a half a keg on the game.  The XO would bet a half keg with the enlisted men on anything.  He loved to have ships parties and BBQ's, he liked having a happy crew.

I haven't been around on the board due to the playoff loss and Finals and whatnot.  But I had to drop by real quick and congratulate Ernie McClatchie on being named Assistant AD at Ithaca.  Anyone that worked in and around the Athletics Department knows this was a much deserved promotion.  Ernie has been basically running Ithaca Athletics ever since I got there in 1999 and is possibly the hardest worker on the entire campus.

I second that Ernie has been amazing.  Congrats to Ernie

Mr.N., my girlfriend just graduated with a doctorate in the Ithaca PT program. Let's just say the job offers have been plentiful. She posted her resume on a New Orleans(where I go to law school) public forum one night and 12 hours later she had 61 emails in response to her resume. She immediately withdrew the resume so the load of emails wouldn't crash her inbox.

First of all, I had no idea there were even 61 people back in New Orleans. Secondly, she called a few of the places she was interested in, both public hospitals and private practices, and essentially was given offers over the telephone, sight unseen(some with healthy signing bonuses). You wouldn't assume PT clinics in that city would be throwing cash around, but the Ithaca PT degree is very lucrative. Your son made the right decision in regards to his decision to attend IC.

Stalker,

Here is something just for you:

In the early days of the U.S. Navy rum was a part of daily life and the grog ration was a half-pint a day. During the days of Constellation there was a saying that showed the importance the men placed on their daily ration of grog. This saying was: "Blow up the magazines; throw the bread over the side and sink the salt horse - but handle them spirits gentle like." In 1806 the Navy Department introduced whiskey to replace the rum ration, but rum was still generally preferred by the Sailors. From then on, rum or whiskey were official parts of life afloat (A quart of beer a day; or 3 to 5 cents a day instead were also introduced later.).

Needless to say, during those years we did not need recruiters and enlistments were at an all time high.

Go Navy - Beat Army!

All the Best

Here is the timeline of how the Navy took away our rations of grog.

On a side note to the women at Ithaca.

When I went there we had:

A Miss Teen Massachusetts
A Miss Teen Texas
A future Miss New Jersey

Not bad.  And there were other ladies there that were better looking!

I am sure that all colleges have their fair share of eye candy.  Cortland had many refreshing tall glasses of water floating around campus.  The Long Island Princesses and wanna be L.I.P.'s were the most common.  How about the other campuses?  Were the better looking women from upstate of down?
