DIII getting some ink in Garnet's hometown paper. Juvan is a local kid and there is a nice write up on him.

Garnet, you ever see him play in high school.  I remember people talking about his Dobbs Ferry teams when he first got to campus.  Apparently they were sick.

Starting an argument in the NJAC room is as easy as walking into your local gym and telling the resident 'roid head that his biceps aren't symetrical.

'Gro, you and the RPI boys are still the best at inciting hysterical arguments on the boards but, I think Max and I have accomplished at least one first this week.  Have you ever had a Rowan guy (who has almost assuredly spent some time in the prison shower clinging to his soap-on-a-rope) call you gay?

the normal rowan fans are ok, the ones that come out of the woodwork during playoff time are idiots.

Not sure how the win over SC "locks up" a playoff bid, but that's a nice article.

AUPepBand

It certainly "locks up" an ECAC playoff bid, at the very least.  :)

Police: 3 SUNY students blew up mailboxes

By ANTHONY SYLOR
Staff Reporter
asylor@cortlandstandardnews.net
Three SUNY Cortland students were arrested Tuesday for blowing up mailboxes in Cortland County, police said.
John T. McAvaney, 20, of 163 S. Third Ave., Ilion; Arnold Nicholas, 20 of 134 Dashnaw Road, Peru; and Nicholas Longino, 20, 5129 St-37, Malone, were each charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
State Police said the three men made explosive devices out of plastic bottles, toilet cleaner and aluminum foil. The three placed the devices in mailboxes on Page Green Road and McLean Road in Cortlandville, causing them to explode, police said.
Police said the three men blew up the mailboxes either late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
Director of Public Relations for SUNY Cortland Peter Koryzno said this morning that if the students are found to be in violation of school policy, they could face any number of sanctions, including community service or suspension.
"The matter has been referred by University Police to the Office of Judicial Affairs," he said.
Police said they arrested the men after they discovered that Arnold purchased toilet bowl cleaner and aluminum foil with his credit card from the Price Chopper in Cortlandville on Monday. Police said the bottles used to blow up the mailboxes were Price Chopper brand soda bottles.
The three students were released and are scheduled to appear Nov. 6 in Cortlandville Town Court.

congratulations. I wish I could describe how hard I just laughed when I saw that. Of course, I then saw that there was an article to go along with it, but that works great as a one-liner.

Well - my favorite thing about going home was always my mom would save Police Beat from the local paper so I could see what my old high school classmates were up to.  Now that the paper is online, I get the added fun of doing some Red Dragon bashing too.

Heard on the radio this morning of a student drug operation busted at Mansfield University....which has absolutely nothing to do with D3 football.

I can't believe Cortaca is only 9 days away!!!  If Ithaca hasn't spent this entire week preparing for that game, they're crazy.  The Alfred game is a W that you can count on every year and doesn't deserve to even be spoken about during practice.

Bombers 55, Alfred 6 (touchdown with time expired and the extra point blocked)

(Come on Reverse Jinx)

Oh, and I went to the NJ Parochial State Championships a few years back at Giants Stadium - Bosco vs. Paramus Catholic when Bosco was #2 in the nation.  Probably about the best football game I've ever seen.  There's nothing better than a rivalry game for the championship.  Paramus played over their heads for  51 minutes, but one bad play cost them the game 14-13 Bosco.  I wasn't too torn since I was there to watch Ramapo in the first game and stuck around for the classic afterward (and to watch Phil Simms' sycophants follow him around).
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Jose - I'll do this over here in relative safety...but literally laughed out loud at the poll on the NJAC - nice

AUKAZ - nice try....I figured thats what you were doing even before you wrote about the jinx.  I hope to god no one is looking past AU...I don;t think they will, especially the way AU/SJF went down last year.

TD comes while IC players are walking off the field, thinking time had expired. Extra point never tried as new rule states that if TD scored with time expired and PAT has no impact on game outcome, it is not attempted. Game over. In the books. On to Cortaca.

Tecmo joins the NJAC battle. Pretty soon Rowan is going to start hating IC guys more than Cortland.

Early prediction

Bombers  27
Saxons    10

I don't know if anyone has really addressed this, but the IC defense deserves a lot of credit this year. I'll be the first to admit I was very harsh on them last year and, in all honest, quite skeptical of the unit coming into this season. With the exception of one bad half at Fisher, the unit has been just as good as IC's offense.

By the way, to the people making the argument that Robinson would have scored those two TD's either way, I don't think so. On the long one, there was a bad missed tackle that Blumenauer would not have missed. Say what you want, but that's a fact. I'd love to see Fisher in the playoffs...at Butterfield this time.
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.
