The Truth 00

sorry boys but i don't see the empire getting 3 teams in...that loss against alfred pretty much sealed it...unless you win big against cortland. then again, i'm no expert at this. i would think that ithaca would hope for alfred to win because that would leave 3 teams with identical records (if you guys beat cortland) and that win over cortland carries more weight for the 8-2 teams.....geez IC guys, i'm digging deep here. bottom line, if alfred beats fisher, they should be in. any logical person would agree with that.

Anyone have a weather report for Alfred on Saturday?

You mean Saterday?  What do ya expect?  Only Upstate's finest:

High Winds, Showers likely, High 55, Low 29

I have to think that IC is 100% done for the playoffs.

If Fisher or Alfred wins this weekend the loser will have the head to head tie-breaker with Ithaca. Basically that leaves IC in 4th place. The E8 is going to struggle to get 3 teams in, I really don't think IC can get it done.

I think Alfred should get in if they win this weekend, and the same goes for Fisher...Basically a playoff game a week early.

Can't wait...GO CARDS
GO FISHER!!!

Fish91,

I guess you're right.  Every year some team wants to scramble and find a scenario for their team.  That's what fans do.  Hope to see a great game Saturday!

There is no possible way three E8 teams are getting into the dance, and it definitley looks like IC is the odd man out. Im not gonna lie that kind of makes me happy after the whooping they put on SC.

Ithaca has been a powerhouse for sometime with their excellent program.  Of course that means everyone has wanted to get where they have been.  If indeed this year is a slip for IC, make no mistake about it, they will be back next year.  I've met some wonderful members of the FDC and I have a neice who went to Ithaca.  Although sometimes emotions get the better of some posters during the regular season, at the end I hope we all support the E8 teams that go into the playoffs.

Okay, I think I found the data that took away my giddiness from Alfred's win on Saterday.  Check out the sobering Points For and Against for Alfred and Fisher:
                       PF  PA
St. John Fisher 367 111
Alfred             244 137

I had been of the opinion that the four top E8 teams were equal and it would come down to execution, but I'm kinda thinking the Saxons are gonna have to play their best game AND get the breaks.  Here's to hoping that Keeley reserves particular venom for Fisher!

Those 111pts include the 55pts that SC put up on them....thats kinda scary if you run a conventional offense.

Ill support whoever makes it the furthest from the East without any hesitation, whether is be SC, Rowan, SJF, anyone. But for now, SC is my team and until they lose thats who im rooting for.

KaZoo,

That was sort of my point yesterday.  When Fisher offense is on the field scoring so much , the offense of the other team can't score.  Inadvertantly the Fisher defense looks better than it might be.  The question I kinda posed was that if the AU defense performs up to a certain level of quality, how does the AU offense compare with the Fisher defense.  More or less, if you limit Fisher's time of possession you have more opportunity to score.  So, the game might hinge on the AU offense v Fisher defense.

You do realize that SJF ranks pretty much dead last in time of posession?  They have the ball for around 23 minutes a game on offense and is still putting up 40 a game.  That means the oppenents offense has the ball for around 36 minutes a game and they are still only scoring 12 pts on them per game (6.2 if you run a conventional offense)....

Saxon73

SC,  Don't blame ya.  That's what fans do.  Good luck v Norwich   ;)
