ICdubbz: Do you do neckties with custom logos? I have in my possession a navy blue neck tie with little purple/gold Saxon Warriors all over it. At this point, I think it's one-of-a-kind. I was thinking I could probably sell some of them to football players/fathers at AU as a fund-raiser for AU PepBand.

yes, we can get them.  they are a pain in the butt to make which is probably why you have the only one in the country.  if the number is significant enough we'll do it.

AUPepBand, Didn't make the banquet. Paid for the boy and 2 other players to go instead. Sounded like a good time though. Looking forward to Spring. Activity starts middle of March doesn't it? Do we really need 75 more recruits? At this point only about 7 graduated. Don't know how many will leave due to lack of playing time but we'd still have more then enough! I'm not sure the coaches enjoyed the split sessions needed last season for practices! The boy had surgery and is almost 100% and better then before practice last summer. He'll be vying for that corner job.
Hey, the daughter is in all county band again this year with her clarinet. I'm still trying to talk her into playing along with you from time to time!

basically if you can think of it i can get it.  right now we are making soccer balls for the MLS.  We do do flags, scarves, banners, blah blah blah so on and so on.  if you can think of it at a sporting event or anything we do it.  what do you have in mind?

The golf towels on your website might be something to think about also...especially once you start hitting the links!

"i can't wait to line up on saterday and see if your boys are as tough as you guys build them up to be."

aufan: We may not need 75 more recruits, but Murray had orders from headquarters to bring them in....it does create a management challenge and he'd like another coach but won't get it. Things are tight. I look at it this way: If we bring them to AU, they're not going to IC or SJF or elsewhere. Glad to hear your son is on the mend. He'll add a lot to the secondary, which actually played well after the Virginia debacle. As for your daughter, bring her to Miller Perf. Arts Center home game days at 11:30 a.m. or so and we'd love to have her in the band! We'll provide the shirt.

From Today's Ithaca Journal:

Longtime IC coach takes job with Pitt

ITHACA — Like anyone with aspirations of coaching at his sport's highest level, Ithaca College's Brian Angelichio is taking the next step.

Angelichio, a two-sport assistant at IC for the past 10 years — and the well-respected offensive coordinator for coach Mike Welch for the past five — confirmed Monday that he has accepted an offer to become the offensive graduate assistant/tight ends coach under former NFL coach Dave Wannstedt at the University of Pittsburgh.

After spending the last decade in Ithaca, the 1994 St. Lawrence graduate said he will complete his move to Western Pennsylvania by this weekend.

"I've always wanted to coach Division I football," said Angelichio, who also spent nine years assisting IC baseball coach George Valesente. "The opportunity's there, to try and get as high as I can get — to be a coordinator in Division I football."
After interviewing with Wannstedt and Pitt's offensive coordinator, Matt Cavanaugh, last Monday, Angelichio said he was offered the job on the spot.

"Basically it's an opportunity to coach the tight ends at Pitt. ... it's full-time responsibility as far as having position meetings, coaching tight ends and having the opportunity to work at a high level," he added.

But despite Pitt's lofty status in college football's major ranks, the decision to accept wasn't easy.

"This is a hard move," he said. "It's very hard to leave the guys, and I love the program. This place means everything to me. Coach Welch gave me a great opportunity. To me, I'm certainly indebted to him.

"Coach Valesente has been a big influence as well. They've been big-time people in my life — certainly people I have a tremendous amount of respect for."

Last fall, Angelichio's offensive unit averaged close to 40 points per game and ranked as one of the best in all of Division III football. The affable assistant played the part of mentor to senior quarterback Josh Felicetti, who broke nearly every passing record in program history and led the Bombers to two NCAA tournament appearances.

He also played a major part in the development of offensive guard Joe Scalice, who became the first Bomber in 20 years this season to be named to the Associated Press' Little All-America first team.

Most impressive for his new position, however, was that Angelichio coached 2004 American Football Coaches Association first-team All-American Vince Dargush — one of the more prolific offensive players in school history.

And a tight end to boot.

Pitt, meanwhile, after earning a 2005 preseason slot in the top 25, endured a disappointing 5-6 campaign in Wannstedt's first year in the college ranks after losing his head coaching job with the Miami Dolphins in 2004.

"We are always looking for ways to make ourselves more efficient and effective, and these adjustments help us accomplish that," said the second-year coach, who announced several other staff changes Monday through a release on the school's Web site.

Welch could not immediately be reached for comment, but Angelichio said his former boss was supportive and understanding of the decision.

Still, that doesn't make it any easier for the longtime Bomber to leave.

"I think there's always uncertainty when you get a new job, but the hardest thing is leaving behind the people I owe everything to," he said.

Just saw that as well.  Mighty interesting.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

This is what I get for not paying attention to Post Patterns, congrats to Caruso and Angelico.  Best of luck!

THANKS for everything that you have done over the past three years and back!

Success breeds success....

Can anybody say reload???

Spring practices start soon.....

I already felt like there were adjustments to be made with the changes at QB and WR...now what's coming should have everybody guessing at least a little...

Just caught a televison spot on the Rochester Raiders....and Fehrenbach was included...give them a lot of credit for selecting all local talent from the upstate-central, NY area....should be pretty entertaining given the talent they have signed....

Bob,  guess that Fox didn't make the final cut, but Bean, Noah and Kallfelz should be there and I can't wait to watch this new 7 on 7
