Now if the Bombers had only pulled through in the Cortaca, perhaps AU would have joined them in the party. Let's hope the Bombers get it done at Frank Bailey. Good luck, SJF in the ECACs....will be interesting to see how they match 'em up. Anyone know when they will announce ECAC pairings?

I think the conference call is monday.....

I still havent seen a list of teams that put their names in for ECAC bids....

I'd love to see AU vs SJF or RPI vs SJF.....anyone else?

saxontad

i said earlier i would much rather AU play a team we have not met this year.

The Ithaca loss to Cortland probably cost AU an NCAA bid.

I think you're right. AU having lost at IC only a week ago, then Cortland winning there yesterday certainly hurt AU, even if Cortland lost to Buffalo State earlier. It would have been nice for the Saxons to test their mettle in NCAA. But perhaps an ECAC invite will mean another game at Merrill Field!

AU (8-2), Bridgewater State (MA) (8-1?), Fisher (8-2), Fitchburg State (MA) (8-2), RPI (8-2), any others?

Wow did AU get the shaft this year!

They had 2 losses... 1 in the east and both on the road to very good teams.

Cortland lost to Buff State and Rowan both games at home & in region and they end up w/ a 5 seed?

Not a whole lot of respect for the E8 from the selection committee the past couple years.

I wish the bombers had taken care of business... then the saxons get in.

I have to ehco tecmo's thoughts on yesterdays first half in Ithaca.  That was the worst performance I've ever seen from the bombers.  Way too many mistakes against a team as good as Cortland.  But, none of that matters now.  This Ithaca team has the talent to come out of the east... hopefully ill be looking for cheap plane tickets to visit Linfield's campus in a few weeks.

AU- congrats on a great season! I hope you guys take out your aggression on whoever you face in the ECAC.
Cortland- good win yesterday... i hope there is a re-match in the East Region Finals.
Fisher- ugh... I'm reminded of last years Ithaca team... Sooo much talent... but 2 close losses (1 in OT) and your on the outside looking in.

PLAYOFFS!  Go Bombers.

Orange Hat,

Actually now that you said it, the more I started thinking about it..... What happened to Fisher this year is pretty much exactly what happened to Ithaca last year.  Good point, and now I know how you guys felt lol  I walked away from that game with a very gross feeling.... I'll be honest that feeling is still here

Do you think we would get a sniff based on the fact that our four losses are to RPI, IC, AU, and SJF? Four VERY good teams?

D3FAN05

How about Endicott (7-3) but one loss is to Curry and one is to RPI - both good teams and Curry is in the NCAAs (criteria for ECAC selection) They also have a head-to-head win over Fitchburg.

We have a loss to IC and Curry is a decent team is a crappy division.

I'd like to see a Fisher-Alfred rematch right away, at Alfred or whatever.  There would certainly be a lot of emotion behind it.

I was just thinking, Fisher might have done better yesterday if they ran James Reile more.  He had 29 yards rushing on just 4 carries.
You can blame the Offensive Coordinator for that one, he had two weeks to work both these great backs in the backfield.

watch what you say about the coaches....you'll get cruicified....especially if they know who you are Mr Reile!

Caz Bombers

Busy weekend for me, time to catch up...seems like every year some wild and crazy stuff goes down on the final day that affects the playoffs and this year was no exception.

Bad weekend for the E8, IC loses the Jug (utterly ruined the entire day when I got word of how it all went down), >:( Fisher gets tossed from playoff consideration by the Saxomaphones and then AU in turn gets hosed out of a playoff bid by Wilkes.  When I did my own personal bracket projections this morning and realized that at least one of the two-loss teams would get in, Wilkes was the first one I eliminated.  The very first one. Whaa happened? ???

Overall I am once again disappointed with the NCAA for choosing to save money in travel over setting up the playoffs in the interests of competitive balance.  Oxy's reward for an undefeated season was a first round game at freakin' Linfield?  UMHB and Trinity (seemingly for the 80th year in a row) have to play the South regional final in the first round? Booooooo.

It figures that the one year I move away from NY, IC gets a playoff game at one of the few D3 locales within a reasonable drive.
