OK Guys,

I hear what you are saying. This guy "Frank" has gotten himself into somekind of quasi-sports-quasi-political situation for lack of a better word, and he is using his "clout" and "position" in an innappropriate manor to influence the D3 discussions.  As I understand it , he is some sort of journalist and/or broadcaster so there might be a question as to whether he should be posting ?  I don't know all the rules but his boasting is greater than his posting.

Frank is the long time broadcaster for Union Football (I can't remember if he broadcast other sports). He was doing this while a student at Union and still does it today. He is passionate about his school and the sport. He does not broadcast full time, but his day job has esquire after it. An Alum, fan, and broadcaster can make for a dangerous combination, lest anyone forget the TV broadcast of Miami and Florida International, and one lost job due to being a little too close.
I repect Frank for his knowledge and opinion of Union Football and his relationships to the school give him some access that others on this board do not have. I would not state that Frank is a journalist. He is involved in the broadcasts, which brings a different perpective to the story. Unfortunately, since this is not a board for journlists, but fans, you should take Frank's posts as just that, no more than the objectivity of Jim Rome.  If he was doing this on air during a football broadcast, then that would be another story.

This is yet ANOTHER thing I disagree with. You can't switch between journalist and fan. Does anyone think NBC wouldn't care if Al Michaels got on some chat room mouthing off about the NFL? Not in a million years would that happen. I firmly believe that anyone that is truly committed to being a responsible journalist, coach, player, employee of DIII football would not post on here, and certainly not under their real name. This is one of the things that bugs me about JT, Frank, etc... Jose pointed it out earlier... they say they are "journalists" when they want credibility and "just fans" when they want license to say whatever they want. That's bullsh*t.

Now that Frank has "retired" from the booth, I have no problem with him saying whatever he wants. But when you are an employee of a company, you can't do things which make that company look bad, whether it be a grocery store, a network, or a college. An objective PBP guy has to assume that his views will be taken as the views of the network... therefore he's really not supposed to express his views, on a forum such as this.

When I worked with IC sports for four years what was hammered into my head was impartiality. I forgot myself and clapped, once, at a BBall game and my boss gave me the look of death. You can bet if any of us had come on here running our mouths when we were still affiliated we would have been severely reprimanded. This is probably why I think this way, but professionalism should not be underrated.

Gee, as one of those die-hard Saxon fans, your prediction is appreciated, even if you think no one gives a crap about ECAC bowl games. For AU, it gives our seniors a "second chance" to go out on a winning note....provided, of course, they meet their objectives. UR certainly is a more formidable opponent than Maine Maritime was last year, and, although the current Saxons may be unaware of the UR-AU history, there has been some ill feelings there in the past.

maybe he meant as opposed to the past few years? not sure, i don't think they are overrated.  Winning the NJAC even with 2 losses should get you about the 4 or 5 spot.

Agree with your post. They only lost 1 D3 game in OT and the other was to a D1AA scholarship school.

What the Rowan O has lacked this year from years past is experience in key positions (i.e. RB, WR and some Oline spots). The D though has stepped up and carried the team when needed. They say Defense wins championships, so time will tell.

Enjoy your tailgating.....sorry I missed you at Merrill Field. Flash83's son had an NFL-like outstretched diving grab that set up the Bombers' first (or maybe second) score. Had neglected to point that out....outstanding play. You have reason to be proud of #83.

Before the AU-Fisher game, AUPepBand visited all the tailgaters and SOLD OUT the remaining AU Pep Bandanas! Sorry, MIYH, they're all gone! Before the AU-IC game, had considered visiting the Ithaca bleachers to try to sell snokones, but it appeared someone had already been there, done that.
