sjf cards- i assume you live close to roch right?
either that or your wife is a saint- sorta like mine - when it comes to traveling to growney.

looking forward to the muc game.

on a side note-- i just saw the all region teams-- no fisher guys on offense--at all.....ouch  been a while since that has happened.
here is hoping that they fine tune the offense and get the ship righted.

Close enough to Growney to make her say yes. We have been talking about a big season lone event for a few years now, and with Fisher playing at IC (20 minutes from me) and Hartwick (1.5 hours from me), and not having to go to Alliance Ohio, she finally caved.
GO FISHER!!!

I hear ya on that one... No Alfred guys on any east team at any level on offense or defense.  I guess this year we were pretty balanced, same with Fisher where one guy didnt attract a ton of attention... although I thought the speed DE, 92 maybe?, had a shot with the numbers he had.  He was a good presence on the line...

On the AU side, I thought Nick Clark had a decent shot at making it for LB's... Lead the team in tackles and sacks, actually lead the nation at one point averaging 2 sacks a game...

Hows the squad looking for Fish next year with returners? And any word on Hammel? Is he eligible for another year? Good friends with my roommate, said the kid had a ton of talent...

Fisher is losing a lot on defense, only returning a couple of starters.  Not sure about Hammel but I don't think he is returning.  There is a Fisher poster (can't remember which one) who must be the guys father the way he constantly brings him up, so I'm sure he will answer that if he is even around anymore.

Losing Becton/Pollack/Ahmen/Bostic will be big but I can't say I'll miss the dumb penalties by the LBers...

Saxons looking good for next season...

Missing the secondary is going to be tough and Ritter on the defensive line.  Bond will fill in well.  Lots of young faces all around though.  Returning some good LB's to fill in for a stingy defense.  The whole offensive line returns as well as Vinson who will hopefully be healthy.  Missing Bork will hurt but few know about third receiver Milton Harding and Ryan Thon (best hands I have ever seen on a receiver).  Secky running the show as well. Saxons pull it together and finally take the E8 next year?

It's my belief that they will.  I'd venture to say they will lose one E8 matchup and end up being co-champs with somebody.  I am a believer in the Secky....

I think the Saxons have a very reasonable chance at being 8-0 and then splitting the final two at Butterfield and Growney.  My expectations are definitely a lot higher for 2009 than they were for 2008.

Hey Kazoo, did you see my post on the previous page?  With your name being what it is, I think you'll enjoy it.

Yes, we're actively recruiting her younger sister for the band...

9-1 is certainly in the cards for Alfred. But to do it, they'll have to beat Ithaca in IC. I believe the last win there (and only, if memory serves me correctly) was in 1982. They've beaten SJF on the road recently (2005) but it's been awhile since they did it to IC.

I think they can do it though. IC is losing a lot of OL help, and they haven't had a DL that could rush the passer since 2004. Secky is nasty, and may be the best starting QB in the conference (among those that are returning)

I'd be more confident in them if the schedule was flipped, but frankly, I'm still going to call them the favorite, with IC and SJF battling for 2nd and a Pool C bid.

I look for Springfield to be in the mix also. That option game is going to be nasty next season.

I agree.  Springfield started to score in spurts at the end of the season and if they can keep the turnovers down, they'll help to make a mess of the E8 standings.  KazooTwo is scheduled to come see the Pride at Merrill in week 3 next year which I'm hoping will be Homecoming.  I'm glad the Saxons get them early and at home next year.

Any thoughts on Utica yet? I think they could surprise some people after the first year under Coach Faggiano... he'll get a chance to really recruit his guys more than Kemp's.

I think they'll probably finish 5-5 (2-3) with a couple close losses.  Next season will be interesting to see what Faggiano's move to Utica means to the E8.  Does Fisher rebound?  Does Utica continue to improve?

Springfield's offense is a pain!  However, very efficent.  Not very exciting to watch but they get the job done.  I was impressed with the QB from this year, freshman, but he ran well and was hard to tackle on the first hit.  Little inexperienced but thats expected of a freshman.  I think they could make a run at the title next year as well.
