Yeah...I hear that cuts into the football games.  My day is coming soon.

How many games do you guys actually get too each year?  What about everyone else?

We always get to the UR/SJF game and I try to sneak out to another game or two at home...

I've got two boys and live in Mayberry, so I typically make it to all 5 home games, a road game or two, and any postseason action.

Pep would say for 2009, for Alfred:

Excited:
1) Super sophomore season for Secky
2) Vinson Hendrix hopefully at 100% in 2009
3) A healthy Chad Pieri joining Nick Clark on defense
4) Road trips to Metro NY, Philly, Rochacha, Ithaca
5) A pep band loaded with veterans

Nervous:
1) Replacing Ron Smith, Brian Nitsche and Rob Ritter on D
2) When Manzer tries to make something out of nothing
3) Kicking game....can AU get some kickoff touchbacks?
4) Will the bandwagon make it thru another season?
5) Can E8 replace Norwich?

Other Alfred posters may see things differently, but that's Pep's take. Great idea, 798891!

And my list would be nearly identical to Pep's, but that makes sense since we've been talking about these things since about week 9.  I'd switch 2 & 3 on the nervous list and replace #4 with "Will the Saxons continue to flirt with 100 penalty yards a game?" because we all know the Bandwagon is gonna make it through Secky's career let along the 2009 season!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

I will attempt a Hartwick review....

Excited:
1) Young healthy LBs should be improved
2) Colin Plass returns at LB, he was out all season with a broken jaw.
3) Tosh Demulder getting more chances with the ball, use him like Brian Westbrook.
4) Having Ithaca and SJF at home.
5) Young stable of RBs/WRs, especially freshmen Casamanu & Edwards

Nervous:
1) Replacing Boltus and Phelan obviously, can Radley execute the offense?, can we recruit a stud this year to replace Boltus?
2) Kick off team, can't give up a short field every time!
3) Replacing Justin Oelgeschlager  at safety.
4) Defensive line size, especially DTs, got to get much bigger.
5) Road trip to Alfred.

Pep has to give you some +K for Nervous #5.....most folks are nervous about a road trip to Alfred....will we actually find it?
Because just when you think you're lost, you've found Alfred.

I heard the E8 is back end scheduling next year. So the conference games will all be at the end of the schedule and non-conference up front.

Big time congrats to Boltus on this one.  It looks like he is the only player in D3 to get an invite to the combine this year...and only the fourth D3 player since 2003 to get invited to the combine period (Garcon from MUC in 2008, Allan from Whitworth in 2007, and Hoag from Gustavus Adolphus in 2003).

Boltus was also invited to compete in the Texas Versus the Nation All-Star Game...one of only 4 players not from DI or DI-AA...and once again the only D3 representative.

Actually, it was the equivalent of 6 seasons......4 years X 15 games =60, which is 6 "typical" seasons.  However, MUC doesn't have "typical" seasons, allowing them an extra 1/2 season per year to practice and obtain game experience for younger folks.

F.Y.I., Nate is "on schedule" to graduate in Spring (after four years) with a degree in Business.

That's actually correct.

This will be an interesting off season for Fisher.  The defense lost a lot of starters so it will be interesting to see how that turns out.  Lost our 2 best wide receivers but there were a few that showed promise last year so I think we will be ok in that department.  I wonder however if they will continue to run the same offensive system they did this past year or if they decided it was a failed experiment and go back to the drawing board.  Also it will be interesting to see if there any any impact Freshman ready to step up like the way Stepnick did a few years back for instance.  Can't wait for next season, but it is so so far away....

Yanks when is this game going to be played? Will it be on national TV?
