Would it make sense for SJF and AU to go to the LL as well?

Well who knows who the LL would take anyway, and you might be just as well of being an independent anyway.

82 says SJF should play MUC 10 times each year, go 1-9, i mean 0-10 and 'go' to the play-off committee arguing strength of schedule...ya know, if they keep the games close like within 25 or something...

i really am upset about this E8 crumbling thing.
what the hell.
where will fisher end up?
any ideas?

If it all goes down as rumored, I would imagine that Alfred, Fisher, Utica and Wick would be left to play independent schedules similar to what Alfred had to do when the ICAC disbanded.  It would make the most sense for Springfield to join the new ECAC since that would give them the inside track towards an AQ.

What we really need is Elmira to start a football program.  Do it for Ernie Davis!!!
The schools in the new ECFC don't want Springfield!

I wonder if Morrisville would jump, or be invited to the ECFC.

 Isn't Morrisville  leaving the SUNY?
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

That's pretty funny.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I think that they are for all other sports.

I believe that they are still affiliated with the NJAC for football.

I really hate the idea of the E8 disolving. The league was really starting to come along, and become a very strong conference in a lot of sports. If Ithaca, Naz, and RIT all leave, even if one of them leaves, it really hurts. I can't imagine the league replacing any of those teams with as strong a school. I really feel for a team like Stevens who just made the jump a short time ago, and may have to go through the process again.

For Fisher I think it would be a better option to look for another conference to compete in, rather than try and replace a team/teams with the likes of Caz, Keuka, and Medaille. Nothing against those schools, but I don't think anyone on this board is getting all jazzed up for Caz's Equestrian Team, or Keuka's Synchronized Swimming dominance. I don't know where Fisher would go if the invite to the LL is not available, but I think that is the best bet for teams like AU and Fisher.
GO FISHER!!!

Hey, we might as well just become an Independent (like someone mentioned before) or try to form a football only conference with the state schools (since SJF is one of the few private schools that constantly play SUNY schools).  If we become an independent we could just be alot of teams non-conference games.  We could get teams out of the NJAC, LL and MAC to fill the schedule or we could just schedule a bunch of cake games and go 10-0 and all but assure a pool B bid.  If we get the SUNY schools to join we'd have a conference with Port, Buff St, Cortland and maybe Salisbury and Wesley could join in as well.

It's going to be a mess if the E8 dissolves.

Maybe Fisher would join the LL if Mo'ville is dropping out?

I hear what people are saying about being an independent. The thing I don't like about it is that it is always nice to have the possibility of backing into a NCAA selection. Last year I don't think anyone would say Fisher had a great year, but they were a extra point away from going to the tournament. It is not the way you want to get in, but it is always to have the possibilty.

The other thing is that if you are an independent you don't get those breather games as much. If you are pulling for a pool B, you have to schedule some tough games to make sure your resume holds up. In a conference you can play a Utica, or a Norwich and get those weeks to heal players, get some new players experience, build some confidence, and try some new things. Obviously there are pros and cons to both options. I guess it is just about personal preference.
GO FISHER!!!

It,s unfortunate that when the Empire 8 was formed the SUNY schools asked to be part of the confrence since they were independent at that time. The Presidents, AD's & Football coaches of the new E8 NY schools thought that it was beneath them to play the SUNY schools ,and they would rather play schools like Springfield. This forced the SUNY schools to have to join leagues that played in MD,Va & NJ.

Have fun traveling and playing a independent schedule.
