Is there any information about Fisher's incoming class at all? Who will make an impact right away? Who looks to step up that we may or may not have heard from last year?

I am interested to see what Dan Witkowski is going to look like this year. He showed some good signs last year, but was primarily the 3rd receiver every game. Can Fisher hold onto the ball at the QB and RB spots this year. I am a little concerned about the ability to make stops on defense as well. Any word?
GO FISHER!!!

Nothing that I've heard.

Any word on Fisher camp?
They should be getting ready any day now- if not already..

Went to IC's football picnic this week. According to Welch, Dan Juvan was reasonably impressive at Bills camp these past few weeks. No idea what it means long-term however.

Also heard IC's got 60 incoming freshman this year. Good times

First time he's been impressive in that ballpark in his life.

In my mind Dan Juvan is to Ithaca what Rex Grossman was to Florida.

Any of you guys know this Ithaca grad who wrote the D-III article being referenced on the OAC board?  Bohn?  He makes somewhat of a valid point, and does kind of call himself out.....but still seems to be a bit ummmmmmmmm.......snarky.

Yikes, I just went and read the article..... bad writing + bad editing = ouch. Plus, what's the point?

"Dear DI fans, you should watch DIII! To prove my point, here are all the things wrong with it, with no insight offered, because I've done no research and no journalism. By the way, go Bombers!!"

Anyone on this board could have done a better job.

Hey, thanks! I'm glad to know differing opinions are tolerated on this board! I mean, hey, I wrote twice that MUC and UW-W deserve all the success they've gotten over the years and called MUC one of the most successful programs in all of college football.

I simply wondered if D-III football has gotten so top heavy that MUC and U-WW are forgone conclusions to reach the Stagg Bowl right now, and if that's a good thing.

Since when is wanting a little bit of parity a bad thing?

If you interpreted that as me ripping on either school, you should really go back and re-read it because I gave ample credit to both schools for their success.

I think you are being pretty harsh Max.  I thought the piece was just fine.  What's the problem?

I don't agree with the premise though, especially when it comes to college football.  I make this same point in every BCS argument too.  Who really cares if the system is flawed or, in this case, if two teams are head and shoulders better than everyone else.  The great part about college football is that every Saturday matters.

In the end, college football is more about head-to-head bragging rights than it is about total titles. I even think some of the Mount guys might agree with this.  Is it more fun to get the trophy or to vanquish this year's flavor-of-the-month?

I said this last year and the year before, if IC knocks off Cortland, Union, Fisher,  or whichever NY team is running its mouth, I am happy.  (The converse is true too, I think we had a bad year if we lose to Cortland and then make a playoff run).  I really don't care about playoff wins.  (I didn't even watch the Curry game last year).  Those are just icing.  Same goes for the Gators.  SEC wins mean a lot more to me than dominating some sorry excuse for a team from a sub-par conference like the Big 12.  I'd rather taunt Georgia fans in Jacksonville than care about Oklahoma fans or Ohio State fans (those poor saps).

This isn't true for other sports.  There are no other sports (the NFL included) where you CANNOT miss a regular season game.  In fact, my wife and I have season tickets for the Gators and Bucs.  When both are home on the same weekend, we always sell the Bucs tickets because those regular season games never mean as much and we'd rather sleep off Gameday in Gainesville.
